ST1100 dash light bulbs

I noticed my speedometer was a little dim, so when I did some farkle wiring today I pulled the suspect bulb, and sure enough, it was burned out. It's a Stanley 158 bulb. There's a total of 7 lighting my dash panel. I was thinking of replacing all 7 with LEDs, and possibly changing the color as well. Do you think a blue LED would change the color I see from the instruments much?

I tried red bulbs in my 1100's gauges, and didn't like them. The built in greenish tint filtered out too much of the light, so that part of the gauge was too hard to read. The red parts of the gauges, OTOH, were TOO bright. With blue, you can expect the red parts of the gauges to be pretty dim, as the red will filter out most of the blue light emitted by the LEDs.
 
Wow your STeed has 7 bulbs in the dash? Mine only has 4 194 bulbs.

I suspect the line of 4 bulbs are for the actual dash lights. I have no idea what the other three rubber plugs that are identical in size to the dash bulbs are then...

So I assume the 194 bulbs are the same size as the 158...

I think I'll give colored filament bulbs a shot first and see how I like them. After I find a suitable color, if any, I'll get LEDs in that color.
 
Has anyone found a suitable replacement for the dash light bulbs? I too haven't found any bulbs that seem to be an exact replacement. I don't want anything too bright, since the ST1100 instrument lights aren't adjustable...
 
Well, it turns out the dash instrument light bulbs on the ST1100 are Stanley WB121. There don't appear to be any real substitutes, or LED replacements. The standard bulbs are rated at 12 volts and 1.7 watts, which is 25.5 lumen, that's pretty dim. They have a T10 wedge bulb base.

Partzilla has them for $1.85 each, which seems to be about the lowest price out there. Wish I had known, I just ordered some stuff from them, could have saved some shipping charges. Guess I'll wait until I have more to order...
