Which rebuild kit to go with, OEM or other aftermarket. Anybody have the correct part #?
Yes, but you didn't stop to say Hi today.I used the OEM one too.
Your comment about having it apart and it looks fine is a bit short on information. If you just took it apart for inspection, then its probably OK to just put it back together and be done with it. If you were investigating an issue, then I'd go with new parts.I have a 99 (45k) master cylinder apart and the innards look fine. Would you clean and re-assemble (kit is not cheap) or get new parts?
I realize that this is an ancient thread, but this is the problem I'm having AFTER replacing the parts in my front master cylinder for my 2000 ST1100YHad been having trouble bleeding the front brakes. Checking the master cyl is the last thing to check and the rubber bits look ok to me.
Have not figured out why the brake lever isn't firming up.
No clue. It was 8 years ago.I realize that this is an ancient thread, but this is the problem I'm having AFTER replacing the parts in my front master cylinder for my 2000 ST1100Y
what was your end results?
Lube with brake assembly paste and use a thin, round instrument with no sharp edges to start prying it on...Anybody got any tricks for getting the piston seal on the body of a rebuild kit?
OK, Thank you. I'm tempted, but not quite to that point yet. Or my rebuild kit from ebay could be garbage too.No clue. It was 8 years ago.
Might have just used another m/c.
