I posted a while back of using a gl1500 honda pump on the stock assembly. The unit failed after 3k miles and to no one's surprise came out of china. My goal is to incorporate a pump of known quality with the fuel regulator off a stock honda assembly. Throwing a pump without controlling the pressure will create starting/running issues. I used an airtec pump but the same holds true for quantum etc. I bored out the plastic holder and ran the wiring through where the mesh was located. The pump is now easy to line up to the reg. Add the existing oring and some grub screw for added security. Used orings to seal the pump outlet to the regulator. A piece of fuel hose is used as a spacer and retainer. You now have a cheap/hideous workaround to the 700+ honda pump and can be replaced in the future in minutes.
