ST1100 low beam light bulb

Hello all,
After 111,000 km, low beam bulb is out. There are lots of options for a brighter bulb, but I am not really familiar with anything non-OEM for any Honda bike or car. My questions are:

1- When sitting on the bike, is the low beam headlight bulb the Right one or the Left one? Sorry, but I can't tell which one is which.

2- There are few different Honda OEM part number for the light bulb. My guess is they all fit all ST1100s, regardless of model and year?

3- Anybody has replaced the bulb with LED or brighter bulbs that fit without hassle?

Converted all of my ST1100s to plug-and-play LEDs and would never go back.
I used the Kantana F2 ones but I don't know what the latest version is called.
I did find it was easier to pull the headlight assembly out of the bike to do the install and get it right the first time. ;)
 
Both lights do low and high beams, Oem is a special built bulb, I put in H4 bulbs by cutting off the two tabs that don't line up ( bottom 2 if I remember). Other option is a shim kit, where to buy I don't know. Myself I pull the windshield and top plastic to get at the bulbs, but there is a panel on the bottom of the fairing to get at the headlight , but my hands are to stiff for that way.
 
You can change the bulb by cranking the front wheel to full lock to the side you want to change the bulb. This gives you room to reach in with your hand in front of the trple tree. Having said that, the biggest frustration is the bail wire holding the bulb in place. I think it, well I know it’s far easier to remove the headlight. If one bulb goes out the next one will a month later, change them both at the same time.
The shims are advisable as it maintains the bulbs orientation. (H4). I believe they are available on EBay or Amazon.
Yes converting to LED’s is a good option. Do a search and you will find an in-depth discussion on the best product that produces the same beam as the H4

If both lights do low and high beams, when I have no low beam (low beam fuse is fine), then what is the cause of it? The relay maybe?

the relay would be the most likely culprit

I'd need to check the schematic to be sure, but I think if the starter button headlight cutout switch gets flaky both high and low beams go out, but I'm not sure.
