ST1100 spark plug cap resistor

I remember exploring all of these things with my 85 XL600 thumper, it was the only time I had cause; arriving finally at the point where there just wasn't enough energy to cross the resistor / lead resistance / plug gap anyway.
When I reduced the gap from .32 to .22, it ran great, again... ? ... don't want to get political but, well, I'm not a religious man, but, I still believe god was trying to tell me something.
Failed spark plug wire resistors and other short stories by [anonymous]- you can't even find that it ever happened to anyone else, even on the [information super- garbage way] internet.

It would be nice to source alternative plug wires equivalent to the expensive Honda part.

The link that I provided in post #3 gives some suggestions that I used when testing before buying OEM.

The plug caps are NGK. Part number XC05FMGG. 'NGK' and the part number are stamped on the side. I couldn't find such a part listed in NGK's online resources.
X =102 degree elbow
C =10mm plug
F = Terminal nut
05 = 5kohm resistance
M = Rubber sheathed
G = Rubber Grommet

The closest I could find was this one: XD05F - but the length of that from mid elbow to the end is 70mm. The ST1300 cap is about 125mm.
The only other alternative that I considered before buying Honda OEM was the straight cap - NGK SD05F - that has a length of 108mm.
