st1100 wind deflector kit

hi all ,i have a wind deflector kit for my st1100 and the sides are on ,but the mirror ones do you have to drill 2 holes or am i thinking wrong here ,any advice much welcome ,thanks

Yes Sean, there's a drill in your future. I'd tape them on first and mark the holes the best you can.
You can put them in one or two spots, if you check out pictures, some are higher or lower but ensure the nuts inside don't foul the mirror movement.

I'd used 3M double sided tape instead (used for automotive trim) and skip the drill.
I've got 20,000+ miles with that and no problems.
And I have some where I drilled the holes which are a pain in the anatomy to get 'right'. ;)
 
They’re currently made of unobtainium, where’d you get a complete set?

I drilled mine 20 some years ago. And again due to tip-overs. And I’ll drill again, next time. :)

Brand new pair of mirror deflectors on eBay here in the UK...


There's a fairing deflector too, only the left side strangely.
