Back when I was working , a co-worker rode his '89 Harley Springer to Sturgis , cops stopped him in Sturgis , wouldn't let him ride it again because of handlebars being above his shoulders being illegal . He had to change out handlebars & cables , etc. there to get home again . ( some background : this guy went through 8 sets of exhaust systems to finally have the loudest possible Harley . - I once was a 1/4 mile behind him & absolutely could not hear my own '05 Shadow Aero under me ! ( my short-trip commuter bike ) - that's when you realize how much you are depending on your hearing to know when to shift gears . + I was getting a rare-for-me headache ! ) Ear-splitting racket had something to do with him getting stopped ? ? ?
