ST1300 Alernator 2006

It looks pretty complicated, but doable if you are a decent mechanic. I would take lots of pictures of the disassembly to get to it.

Doesn't look to be very complicated from this video, but it seems very tedious and fiddly.

I just did mine a week ago. Plan this properly and you'll do fine with some coaching.IMG_0016.JPGIMG_0021.JPG

I have replaced mine on the 07 ST1300 and it was not that bad, just take your time. I also replaced all of my hoses and O-rings while I was in there as the bike had over 200,000 miles.

How difficult to replace rear shock absorber

In my opinion it's the hardest thing to do to an ST1300. And I've done quite a bit of things short of an entire engine change. It's only hard because of where it lives. Down deep inside below everything with just one hard bolt to remove and reinstall. The bottom bolt under the alternator. It's getting to the alternator that makes the job difficult.
