Article [13] ST1300 - Fairing Removal

Re: ST1300 Fairing Removal

I'd like to thank all of you, all posts and threads are a huge help for a new and proud Greek owner of a pan european!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to bump this up but I have to say a huge thank you. Popped my cherry finally on this.... not fun. Not fun at all. But without this forum and the help in it....yikes!!

+1 on the sentiment. And now I think I get to do it again, because on Tuesday's ride I noticed the coolant / engine temperature indicator dropping to only two or sometimes even one bar, then climbing back to three at stoplights. There's a thermostat replacement in my future...

Old thread, i know, but since it has been bumped.......

Once you get the fairing off, you'll want to get it back on again. This article provides some tips, and includes quality photos of all of the screws and fixings with part numbers and descriptions - so that you know what goes where and why, and can identify the part you have left over. It is for a Uk ST1300A9. I have commented on the differences that I know about with earlier versions and USA bikes.

Download the pdf.

Those push pins - search ebay for the part number. 90657-SBO-003. Many places reproduce them and sell them in multipacks. I bought a load of 50 For not much cash. They have been very reliable, but at that price I didn't care if they lasted just one fitting.

I was actually checking with @Mellow

Not my work so it's up to him if it gets posted since he had the original Okay from the creator.

You can (for now at least) reach it here thru the wayback machine...

Each of the 7 steps are PDF's that can be downloaded.

They can be posted here in this thread as long as @Mellow has no concerns.
Thanks, added them to the original post as well. I'm okay with is as long as Mike is and if he does have issues with it I'll take them down but his whole purpose was to help the community so I'm sure he'd be okay with it.
