Finally, my question .... With three wires going into the left headlight, which wire color going into the left headlight is positive and which wire color is negative? Many thanks!

White/black is the low beam 12V+, blue/black is the high beam 12V+, green is 12V- or ground.

If the charger does not consume any power when there is no phone in it, it will not drain the battery if it is connected directly to it.

Connecting it to any lighting circuit is a bad idea in my opinion. Why invite a future failure of a critical system like lighting?

Why cut or tap into any wires at all?

Use the 9-pin connector for the quartet harness behind the left side fairing pocket. Better yet, get - or construct - the quartet harness and then be ready for other accessories in the future.

I power my zumo XT GPS, heated grips, and USB power adapter (in right fairing pocket in place of the OEM cigarette lighter plug socket) this way.

Helps to have the proper connectors and crimper, but not essential.
