ST1300-How often have you “Sillly Drop” your ST : Pannier Crash Bar Protector

Thank Goodness for Crash Bar Protectors for the front and the optional aftermarket Pannier Crash Bar Protectors rear.

Now you don’t have to worry about dropping the ST at the carpark, home or at the shopping mall or when you least expect it.

I’ve added a rubber plastic cover over the bars so when that happens, just change out the plastic rubbers protectors only or just leave it if it’s not damaged too badly.

The protector bars no scratch and future rusts from the fall.

Anyway not necessary for the rubber plastic protector but just one of those things that if you have nothing to do and itchy to do it just find something like this to try .

ugh, twice in just the last month or so...after not doing it for 14 years. First was trying to paddle back out of a spot, my right foot stepped on a perfectly placed bit of tree branch, made my foot roll right out from under me. Got it replanted but couldn't stop it from falling. Second time was just last week when I needed something in my pannier at a red light, and dumb-a$$ me forgot to put my kickstand down in the hurry of it.

Made me consider designing some 3D printed TPU caps for the plastics so they don't look all scuffed and are more expendable, but that'll need some work and thought.

More than anyone else on this website. FYI, if you hang on to the handlebars as the bike starts getting to the point of no return, the bike will flip you like a pinball flipper. Doesn't matter if you want to ask me how I know, because I won't tell you.
