My guess is the threads are coarse. Does anyone know?

I'm currently in the planning stage to replace brake parts and lines. My HEL SS line kit came with a dozen or so coarse thread banjos. Also, I found a general rule of thumb chart here

that seems to concur. I feel safe going with coarse thread and have ordered a couple of the banjo bleeders.

Just reading this again for the first time in 2 years. 2 comments from previous posts.

1. No. There was no evidence of any glue having been applied to the rear retainer clip of my 2013 built ST1300 A9 rear caliper.

2. I’m always reluctant to burp air out of an already sealed banjo fitting, because the seal is created by crushing the washer. Once crushed, it cannot be re-crushed.
But when fitting new banjo washers, they seal adequately for bleeding purposes before they are fully crushed. So I tighten them until they don’t leak - which is roughly
half the specified torque. Then I can fill up and bleed, and then burp the banjo bolts, before tightening the bolts fully.

Your point about the crush washer makes sense. Next time (if there is one), I will replace the banjo bolt crush washer and do as you suggested.

Fortunately, I have not experienced a leak. Thus far, I have followed Larry's (@Igofar) tutelage, and he has never let me down. Larry has more experience and knowledge than I will ever have.

I've got no argument with that, and I am no expert. I suspect that if you just slacken off enough to let the air out, then the washer is unlikely to move relative to the mating surfaces. I guess that problems are only likely to arise if the washer is disturbed.

Not an issue - It often happens - people read jfheath, the brain makes up a word from the letters. It's what the brain does.
So for empxale, pordivnig that the frist and lsat lteters in a wrod are crocrcet, you can jumble up the other letters and still know what it says without much effort . Which is really clever......

.... Except when your brain does odd things - like give you motion blindness, where an object moving directly towards you simply vanishes - when most other things in the background are moving. Because it appears to be not moving, the brain treats it as insignificant and discards it. The eyes see it, the brain ignores it and it disappears.

'Sorry Mate I didn't See You'. Is not just an excuse. It is probably correct. Always weave a little when approaching traffic waiting at a side road junction, to move across their line of vision, rather than heading almost straight towards them - because they really may not see you.

But Robert Redford's character got to sit down and speak with him calmly.

Ps: I'm also bumping this thread so I can find it easier in the next few days when I'm having an acquaintance who's a lot more mechanically inclined than I am take a look at my brakes and see if we can bleed and or flush the brake system on my bike, (although it was done a year ago, that was about 16,000 miles ago !!)
