Good morning everyone

The Cubano roast is ready and waiting for you.

It's 73°F and clear in Rockville, with 84 percent relative humidity and a 5 mph NW breeze. The high will be just 78 under sunny skies, though it may feel a handful of Fahrenheits warmer. Still not bad at all.

Yesterday's keiro kai (honoring the elders) event went well and was enjoyable.

Today will be Old Guy Goof, as usual for Mondays between late April and the end of September, followed by some wrestling with bureaucracy.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

I got up early to finish some work for work before we go to work.
Not much chance for rain today, if the weather-guessers are to be believed, but it will only get to the mid-90s.
Our favorite pet-sitter / animal psychologist is leaving us today, and moving to Vero Beach, FL.
Truthfully, she's the only pet psychologist we've ever known. But she's sweet, and also drives an Element. They're great dog cars, but Kaiser hasn't ridden in ours since I replaced the radiator.
It's been all the trailer, all the time.
I was very late to church yesterday (I didn't have tech duties), and riding quickly up the steep driveway, I was in the sharpest part of the curve at a decent lean angle... only to find a very large whitetail doe in my lane looking at me surprised.
Well, I was surprised too, at 11am in broad daylight, but before we had a close encounter, she quickly bounded off into the woods.
Well, good for her.
And better, for me.
On the way home, I was reminded that riding under old trees at 98° feels much better moving at 60mph than it does sitting in the sun at 0mph.
I get to do both around here.
I was pulled in to help with the evening church service, and riding home after dark (it's getting dark too early already), at 82° it felt nice and cool, almost like 70, in a mesh jacket.
Alas, and so sad, I can tell my summer is slowly fading away.
George Harrison, while maybe not the first, famously said "All Things Must Pass."
Including this lovely, hot summer.
But if I'm careful, or if I'm lucky -- I'll get to be around for another one.
Hope y'all will be too.

been at a family shin-ding over the weekend... a +1 hour's drive up north...
bunch of ze GF's 2nd and 3rd degree cousins, some attached in-laws... big pow-how, food, BBQ...

times I'm so glad not having any family (ties/affairs) myself... at all... ;)

one of the major reasons we went:
the site far from larger settlements plus a moonless night promised some nice star gazing... 🌌
hanging outside till past midnight, wrapped in sleeping bags like a burrito (nights getting cold), we weren't disappointed... 🌠

another thing to notice during the road trip:
fall settling in, but due heat & drought the colors are missing; the foliage turns straight from green into brown...

quite a number of bikes out, itching ze GF to suggest a ride for the next weekend... will have to check the weather forecast for that...

another "out of work" week for me, will gather documents for the dawning legal procedures though... :cautious:

Good morning and thanks for the coffee, Keith.

It's mostly cloudy and 64, rising to 68, later.

As expected, the all-day rain kept the speed down and crashing to a minimum at yesterday's race event. But it WAS raining allll day. Even with rain gear , everyone got soaked.
At our morning meeting, we found out that 7 riders went to the hospital on Saturday, and 3 were still there as of Sunday morning.

Today, I'll head over to the track in Thompson for a car event.

Been fishing today, ok catch. Now to make fillets.

Yesterday was all about Peter.
We were blessed with nice weather, and spent a few hours on a beach.

Morning all! Overcast and grey here, though there is a bit of blue sky slowly disappearing off to the northwest. Currently 13C with a high of 18C predicted. Should be at least partly sunny for the ride home.

I didn't accomplish much over the weekend, except some important television watching, as I am not allowed to lift any weight or extend my reach so that the incision on my back can heal. I think that is most frustrating thing out of this whole deal. That and the realization that television watching has come full circle; we're back to watching one episode per week "appointment" television as the streaming services have realized letting us binge an entire show over a day or two doesn't drive a much ad content or media consumption. It may be time to beat a retreat back to books and board games......

The trees are beginning to turn here as well and it sure takes Mr. Sun a mite longer to climb up over the horizon.
