Belt drives have their issues...
Every type of machine can have issues, including Hydrostatic drive units. No such thing as a machine that will never have a problem in my experience. The only thing that changes is that the issues are different depending on the type of machinery.
V -belts slip when wet.
I have never had that problem. Two ride-on mowers going at it all summer and I have never had a problem with slipping belts because of rain and/or wet grass.
Below is part of what gets cut. There is a lot of run time on both machines every summer so its not like there hasn't been ample opportunity for it to happen.

Nice looking place you've got there...

The Jacobsen mower cuts 16 feet wide, took three hours to cut the Runway and tie down area, where my beloved 545 Ford tractor and 7 foot wide Caroni deck take 8 hours, and I don't cut in the rain as I don't like getting wet.
Nice machine! Is that with the Kabota diesel engine? I have never been in one- they are way to rich for my blood. I bet that they make cutting the grass a lot more pleasant. You might enjoy doing it a little to much now.
