Yes, RIP. I wondered what had become of him when I noticed there was nothing from him on the OnSToc rsvp list. Inquired, and got the sad truth. I'll miss him.

i have thought about not seeing him the last couple of years but just figured his interests moved in another direction. He was one of the good guys for sure.

By chance Gerd and I stopped at the same McDonalds on the way home from that OH-STOC. We chatted for quite a while about our intersecting careers; Him a Mechanical Designer and I a Mechanical Engineer. He mentioned how amazing it was that they paid him to do something he loved and I have thought of our chat many times over the years when some inconsequential aspect of my own work had me down.
