We watched Midnight in Paris last night and in the beginning a red ST1300 goes by ('08 or '09). I wonder how many other movies have shown a ST1100 or ST1300?

I apologize if this was covered before. I don't have time to read 500 posts a day...

The movie was OK...

A couple of them I remember,
the remade "Get Smart" a 13 and an 11 escorting the presidents limo
worst movie EVER in Ghost Rider, cop on an 11 doing radar when the flaming bike goes by...

There was a post the other day about a link to a IMDB database where you could search for any vehicle that was in a movie. It would show the level of involvement from something in the background to a primary part of the movie like where it may have been been a big part of the movie. Kind of like the TA in Smokie and the Bandit.

I looked at the listing for the 1300 and it wasn't complete. I don't know if you can submit things to the database. As for the 1300 the two things missing off the top of my head is that I know the 1300 has been seen in an episode or two of Top Gear (the UK version) as well as the documentary Long way Down.

You know, I've watched both Long Way Down and Long Way Round and I don't recall seeing an ST anywhere. And they're too long to go back through to find out. Thanks for the info.

Long Way Around one of the guys father rode with them a few miles in the beginning of their ride. I think they left London and rode together to his house. I haven't seen the movie in several years so I could be wrong in my recollection.

You are right on who it was and the context but the wrong movie. It was on the Long Way Down that McGregor's father joined them on the ride from the northern tip of Scotland to London if I recall. He was riding a red 1300. It wasn't really shown all that much as it was mainly seen only in a few clips as they were leaving the northern part of Scotland and when they stopped once at someone's house. His parents maybe.

Really the clips of the bike were so quick you really had to know what it was to ID it. As it was I had to rewind and pause to be sure.

The Top Gear show I that I saw a 1300 in was one filmed at their normal track. I don't recall what they were doing but they were commenting on how dangerous something was. Testing an electric car or something where they went over the top by having the test vehicle being followed by an armada of safety vehicles. Things ranging from police cars, fire trucks and paramedics. One of the medical vehicles in chase was a ST1300. There may have been more but that is one off the top of my head.

Heh, even found a good screen capture from the episode.

That is weird because I saw the Long Way Around but not The Long Way Down. Maybe I saw the first few minutes of it though.

Hmm. Maybe it was in the other one as well. I saw the other one about a year ago but the Long Way Down a couple months ago. I thought that on the Long Way Around that pretty much from the go they were on their own. Just the 3 bikes and support vehicles. Where on Long Way Down they had segments where other people joined them as shown in the pics above.

Well I guess at the very end of Long Way Around they had a bunch of people that joined them.

[QUOTE;1692763]SO is there anyother movies which show an ST?[/QUOTE]
I reckon one where a (parked) ST1100P gets hit and wrecked, its such a short take that I'd nearly missed it... now if I could only recall the title of that movie again...

An ST1100 made a brief appearance in the British TV By Any Means. It's a silver 1100 with a Bike Quip-like Honda Wing decal (just the wing, no "HONDA") on the bag, carrying a courier dropping of an envelope.

Probably up there as one of the worst movies ever.

I've been told that the Paris police chasing Matt Damon in "The Bourne Identity" are riding ST11's.

No they are BMW K-Bikes, although one of the more exciting chase sequences I can remember. The stunt riders must have had big cajones riding fast and close as they did on those wet Paris cold roads, the French do these things very, very well.

The fact that the bandit car is a ratty Issigonis Mini also makes it memorable for us Brits.

In Vantage Point (2008) shown on UK terrestrial last night, the Presidential Motorcade is headed out by an ST1100 and an ST1300, so you get a Two-fer.
