ST's Little Brother is now here.

Awww...an ST for girls... That's so cute. 65 horsepower? My 1982 Yamaha Vision, a water-cooled shaft-drive 550 V-twin had about that. Probably pretty good on gas.
 
Careful. There's a few "girls" on this forum that might take exception to that comment and from what I gather, could probably embarass quite a few of us in the process!
 
I think it's a nice ride.

It's almost like Honda's admitting: The PC800 was a pretty cool bike after all. Let's make it again!

Most importantly, I like that Honda is trying to establish itself in the motorcycle-commuter market. It's good thinking. :yes:
 
They've had this bike in Europe for years, where it makes sense with fuel prices and displacement-based taxes. I guess i'm just spoiled by horsepower. Karen, I know there are women out there who could spank me, I'd like to ride with one someday. You take your ST off-road? I have a KLR650 for that, rode the San Juans last month.

What I don't understand is why you have this and a DN-01?
I am looking for a bike for my daughter all 5'2" of her. As a new rider it is important for her to get feet on the ground.
Why would this bike be taller than the ST almost 32 inches.
At least the DN-01 has a 26.7 inch seat

My old ST just died, and I replaced her with a little NT650. So light, so easy to move about, I'd forgotten how nice they were. NOT a Pan, but very definately a baby Pan. 65 bhp? gives me 120mph where the limit on the big roads is 70. Enough power to overtake & now I just need to practice keeping up with one of the quickest guys in our club, who rides a....?
I'm not fooling about this bike, they are better than most people give credit for.:D
 
What I don't understand is the low gas milage on the NT700. I was looking at that bike at the show and was suprised it is only rated at 50 MPG highway. I would expect to get at least 60 MPG from that machine.
 
Glowing review for the NT700V in the new issue of Rider. In a nutshell, the bike verily wreaks of "competence."

That about what my PC gets maybe mid 50s if your real easy on the throttle
 
We took our two ST's out with our new NT700VA for David's first big ride last Sunday. 470 miles through the forest and hills of east Texas.

Don't have the actual numbers but the NT looks to be pretty good on gas until you get over 75.

Need to do something about the front end visibility on the NT as the headlight appears very dim. It probably needs adjusting, but I'll also be adding the hyperlites to the forks as this has worked well oin our ST's

I like that 178mph speed spike! Seem to recall a post about another NT700 needing a headlight adjustment and that it sounded super simple.
 
Sits much more upright than my ST1100. 150 pounds lighter too which you can definitely feel just standing it up. Probably a similar power to weight ratio to the 1100 but definitely slower than the 1300.

I get 55mpg(UK) from the 650, but mostly short commutes over twisty roads, in third. I'd expect around the 60-65mpg on a longer run. The 700 has fuel injection, but doesn't seem to notch up much better figures.
Most people seem to get around 200 to the tank, & I used to get that two up as well.
