Sumitomo HTR Z II Anyone tried these?

I saw these tires and thought they might be great on the ST and almost look like an MC tire, too! Looks like it is slightly narrower than the Hankook, too.

The price sure is right, only thing I don't like is the squared off edge. The Hankook has a nice taper from tread to sidewall for cornering.

I like having the rain grooves go all the way to the edge and I expect it would be a bit rounder when mounted on a 5" rim.
 
Tread Width spec for this tire is listed at 7.2" whereas the spec on the commonly used Hankook Ventus V12 is 6.8" so I'm not sure if it will fit although to muddy the waters further the section width of the Sumitomo tire is slightly smaller at 8.3" versus 8.4" on the kook.

Go ahead Bill, we need more pioneers...
 
After talking with a tire dealer friend of mine, the tread width is important for it to fit. The section width will pull in more when fitted on a smaller rim, but the tread width won't. I think it would be too wide to fit.

Aw, c'mon Bill. Give it a whirl. If this Michelin fit on mine anything will fit.
