Sunday coffee and weather, 13 September

Good morning everyone

The Cubano roast is ready for you. I think you know by know where to find the cups and whatever condiments and additives you prefer.

It's 72°F in Rockville and, although it's "Sunday", it's not a sunny day. For one thing, sunrise won't be for another hour and a half, at 0647. For another, it's cloudy and going to remain so until mid-morning. Humid with a high around 87 is what we're told to expect.

Yesterday's picnic is in the books; today I have another, but thankfully not one that I organize. It's keiro kai, the day the local Japanese American Citizen's League designates for the purpose of honoring the elders in the community. I've got three assignments, but none is particularly difficult. I'm providing transportation for some folks between the nearest Metro stop and the venue, then making a run to collect the sushi order, and finally a reverse transportation run to get people back to the Metro at the conclusion of the event. In between, it's socializing and eating. I can do that.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

The sushi seems a bit under cooked.

Here the nice weather's a bit under cooked too. It's cloudy and 12, headed to a rainy 19 around noon.

Not sure what I've got on tap, but maybe it's filling the fridge with edibles for the week. No, not those type of edibles. Sheesh.

It's 60 and raining in NH this morning, going to 70 with rain till this afternoon, sometime.

Yesterday's race event was good...
Until it wasn't.
We stopped for crashes multiple times, and made quite a few ambulance runs to Concord.
Two laps into the last race of the day, we had a milti-bike crash in T3 that brought all 3 ambulances out.
It got as quiet as it was after one of ours died a few years back. Racing stopped, and as far as I know everyone survived.

We're on our way to the track to hopefully have a better day.
The rain should slow them down a bit.

Good morning and thanks Keith. 74 under overcast skies with rain whenever.

Yesterdays drain unclogging event was fun, It took three runs with the auger without much initial success. I could tell the blockage was moving further down the pipe as it took longer for the sink to backup each time. I finally just filled the sink with water and let it stand and was just about to admit defeat when it let go and drained out.

The Cubano was teriffic, thanks Keith! Beautiful day, high only 85F/30C or so.

Been a busy weekend and not done, but nothing really exciting to report. Currently waiting in the wings for a long rehearsal to start. But I'm tickled happy to show that the Craftsman clock is back alive after waiting for all the new parts to arrive. If nothing else good happens today, I'll still be happy for this one thing.

Sorry I'm late, Keith. But I had some Black Rifle over here, so all I really missed was your company.
Yesterday was spent pressure washing everything in sight. But not the driveway, and not the dog and cats.
Or the motorbikes, although they need washing.
The Deere is now clean again, after living its downtime under cover, in preparation for the mobile mechanic visit tomorrow.
It is expected the thing will run again by the time he leaves, so I didn't bother to cut the front yard yesterday.
I don't care for posting in the daily coffee thread after lunch, but can't really explain why. As with much in my life, there's probably no good reason for it.
See y'all tomorrow -- at a more appropriate coffee time.

Windy, but decent temps for the start of WeSTOC 30. I'll be meeting up wit ht early birds at 7PM at the Hotel.

Off to Church, and then get home and prepare for tonight's get together.
