Good morning all. French roast is in the pot. There's bacon and cackleberries (eggs) too. Cold Pepsi's are in the ice bucket.

14 and sunny here, headed to 19 and light rain.

Here's hoping @Andrew Shadow & @Peppermint survived the flash floods, torrential rains, power outages and evacuations. Looks like it was nasty.

Not much on the go today, as it's Father's Day here. Thing 1 took me out for lunch yesterday, and I'll wait to see if Thing2 texts me later. If not, it's all good. Life is busy.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Obo. Adding my hopes re the Montreal contingent well-being.

It's sunny and a delightful 61°F just outside Chambersburg PA. Later it'll be about 82.

Our B&B was built in 1901 as a summer home by a wealthy railroad magnate, and is lovely.


The innkeepers are a nice young couple who are in the process of buying the place from the previous owner/innkeepers now that they've aged out and moved on.

We'll explore the area today, perhaps doing some hiking in nearby Caledonia State Park or simply strolling the business district in town.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

It's sunny and 61, going to 73, later.
We're told to expect rain after 3:00-ish.

Yesterday was nice, until our second race, when the rain began. We stopped, declared it a "wet" day,and let the riders change tires. After that, racing continued, and a good time was had by all.
The rain changed some outcomes, since some riders are better in the wet than others.

Today, we're on a modified Saturday schedule, and we're working on getting out of here before most of the afternoon rain hits.

I missed the news about Montreal, and hope everyone's OK.

Good morning, all, thanks for the coffee, Obo. Hoo, boy...the first day of summer certainly made a "splash" this year.

Yep, it was nasty, all right. 20,000 homes affected, lots of damage, road closures, widespread power outages (over 10,000 homes, apparently). Reports say that about 100 mm (about 4 inches) of rain fell within the space of an hour or two in some places. My complex was affected when the pressure in the sewers, which couldn't handle the deluge of water, caused pipes to burst and flooded the garage in my building. Other areas of the complex seemed to be taking on water as well and we were evacuated by firefighters for a while. Eventually, we were let back in and thankfully, all was well in my and neighbouring units. My power stayed on and I didn't take in any water (the advantages of being on the 3rd floor), but I believe a few of the ground-floor units did get a little wet. We did lose the elevator, however - I think the shaft must have flooded. I just went down to the garage to see if my car's OK - it is. It was clearly sitting in water for a while yesterday, but probably only up to the wheel wells. Much of the water is gone now, but the gentle "dip" in front of the garage door is still a lake. No idea whether the door works or not.
Skies are still grey today and the forecast says there's a chance of more thunderstorms for several hours, but looks like only about 40% chance at the moment. Hope it stays that way. I don't need to go anywhere today, thankfully, so I'll happily stay put. No idea which roads/streets are closed or open, anyway.

Good Morning, Happy Father's Day,Dads. Yeah, today's agenda text Son and Son in Laws a happy day. Got a ride in last night, just the usual local ride out to Delta port then to Crescent Beach. Behaved myself as the boy's in the Gum ball machines were all over the place handing out tickets and impounding the Cages. Good to hear Patty survived the flood, hopefully so did Andrew. I survived without any drama at all, no flooding in my area that I have seen or heard of. Our power never even flickered. It rained extremely hard for an unusually long time and the house shook a few times from some really menacing thunder claps. The street in front of my house was a river of water from sidewalk to sidewalk for a while but that was as bad as it got. To the North-West of where Patti and I are in the Pierrefonds borough is where it was the worst, at least on the island of Montreal. There were many closed streets due to flooding, parking lots with water up to the windows of the cars, flooded basements, etc..

It is amazing how much water can fall in such a short time. These types of deluges are common in other places like Florida, but they were never the norm in this area. Consequently the storm sewers are not designed for that much volume in such a short time. They have been building sponge parks, underground slow-drain catch basins, and other measures over the past few years to try and mitigate flooding as these types of storms seem to be coming more commonplace and digging up the entire city and replacing every sewer with a larger one isn't really practical, let alone financially feasible.

I'm so late.
Been up for a good while, just piddling around (it's a gift).
Our localized predicted flooding hasn't yet materialized, nor did it yesterday, but may have been worse down south. The prognostic precipitation people have been wrong more than right, recently, but i don't mind.
However, I did exercise poor timing yesterday when I chose to go get dog food, as it began just as I walked out of the pet store with 34lbs slung over my shoulder. By the time I got my rain jacket and helmet on, i was already soaked from the waist down.
Fine. No need for the rain pants, then.
I decided to remove my top box at home, which took just a minute, so I could lay the bag flat instead of upright against the case like I usually do.
Worked fine.
I have a beefier aftermarket tail rack from Black Dog, because the stock one from BMW is cheap, chintzy and pitiful.
The GSA is still my Mule.
Other than that, I cleaned up around the yard, pulled 4 or 5 miles of poison oak vines from under the dreadful, hideous, man-eating holly bushes (now tree-sized) in front of the house. The ground was soft from the recent rains, so I could get more roots this time.
Followed by a long, warm, soapy shower to avoid itchy blisters on my hands and arms, and yes I wore gloves.
While I hate poison oak, it seems to LOVE me, and will remind me of its attraction for me, for weeks if I am careless.
OK then, I'll drink my last bit (for now) of Black Rifle that's in the pot, and find some more to do.
I hope my Canuck friends dry out quickly. Sounds like some experienced New Orleans style water intrusion.
As it nears lunchtime for some, I'll include a picture of Kaiser's lunch. Fortunately, the bag is waterproof.
He likes it a lot, but i trust y'all can find something that tastes better. I recommend you do.

Morning Obo & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 79F, heading for 89F. A slight breeze now, but later the winds will be out of the WSW @ 12 to 16mph.

Our area is being clobbered by fires popping up. The closest one is still 50 miles from us, but sheesh, some areas are really getting hit hard.

Besides feeding the birds, I did little, yesterday. Today is our late church, so not much will be done today, either.

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. A couple of nice cold Pepsi(s) from the Ice Bucket, sound pretty good. Thanks Obo!
