Thanks Martin.
Glad to know the alpine hike hasn't created another Ibuprofen addict.
Or maybe it has, and you're not telling us. But there's help for those so afflicted, I just don't know if it's available in your state of Austria...
Keith has his revenge now, after I sent the hurricane aftermath rains up his direction, he has shared his crummy cold snap down in my direction.
As Brenda, the wife of my best man has passed with cancer, her funeral is today. They used to host our FloribamaRiders sportbike-turned-dualsport club at their home for sundry occasions, and her husband Gregg passed several years ago of pancreatic cancer, when he was in his late 50s.
She would often ride pillion with him, but after he died, she seemed to distance herself from us... perhaps the memories were just too painful for her.
It was a great loss for the club, and for me personally. The club didn't last long after we lost Gregg.
He and I did our first Saddlesore 1000 on New Year's Day 2001, from Birmingham to Daytona and back. I'll never forget it.
He rode his Ducati ST2, and I was on the Blackbird.
Several stories I could tell of that trip, and for several reasons. But not right now.
I did basically nothing yesterday, except take the time to see Heart of the Beast at the theater.
It was ok, but I won't say it was great. My attractions to it:
1. the plot (special forces guy crashes his small plane in Alaska),
2. Brad Pitt starred,
3. his companion was a German Shepherd,
4. and I like Alaska.
No spoiler alert.
I'll see it again when it goes to streaming.
It's 46° here now, and that's absurd.
And cold.
Stop it!
I am NOT complaining.
(Are too.)
(Am not.)
(Are too.)
I think I'll start growing my beard again. (Gregg had an awesome beard.)
Time to go, I'm pushing buttons to switch video at church.
As I consider Brenda's funeral tofay after church, I am reminded of our friend Keith's standard closing admonition.
His are wise words.
