G'Day...

7°/19°C @ 83% RH, thus some haze but mostly sunny again... 🌤️

After ze GF dragging me on a extensive hike yesterday, I consider myself lucky that I still
can walk over to the coffee maker without creaking and groaning like an old barn-door... ☕☕

4 hours, about 11km/6,8miles in partially rugged terrain with some bad inclines... 🥵
While the not too hot weather was great, are knees, hips and even spine not so happy...
+40 years ago (which seems like a lifetime) I'd done that in half the time with a full army gear rucksack... 🤔

You can spot the faint skyline of the city in the background...

however... something like 'happy wife, happy life' or so... ;)

enjoy the Sunday, I'm digging into a rich breakfast now

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the post-ramble coffee, Martin.

It's 37°F and clear in Rockville, with an hour yet to go before Mr. Sun peeks above the horizon and begins warming us. Once that happens the high will eventually reach something like 61. Huh- we've nothing but clear, sunny days in the forecast for the next ten days. Not a cloud to be seen.

Yesterday's winery outing was great fun. We especially enjoy being around the parents of our nephew-in-law- they're warm, wonderful, down-to-earth folks.

The rate of fallout from Thursday's bombshell eviction of the ukulele group from the music store has slowed but there's still work to be done. Maybe I'll do it today, but maybe not.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's clear and 25 in MA this morning, rising to 55 later.
I missed yesterday's coffee meetup, due to our early start, then 80 or so cars on-track kept us busy. I feel most of your pains, without having moved more than 6' over the course of the day. Brenda and I worked in Turn 3, and had a great time. Brenda handled flags, while I called out car crashes and spins. The next flag station handles black flags to bring offending cars into the pits, so I called out the car as they came through our turn, so they can put the flag on it.
We thought we were dressed for yesterday's cold, but we were both affected by it later in the day. Brrrr.

Brenda left to work at the 24 Hours of Lemons event again, today, while I'll be in Thompson to work a previously scheduled event there.
After Brenda returns home, we'll dine at our local Chinese restaurant.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Thanks Martin.
Glad to know the alpine hike hasn't created another Ibuprofen addict.
Or maybe it has, and you're not telling us. But there's help for those so afflicted, I just don't know if it's available in your state of Austria...
Keith has his revenge now, after I sent the hurricane aftermath rains up his direction, he has shared his crummy cold snap down in my direction.
As Brenda, the wife of my best man has passed with cancer, her funeral is today. They used to host our FloribamaRiders sportbike-turned-dualsport club at their home for sundry occasions, and her husband Gregg passed several years ago of pancreatic cancer, when he was in his late 50s.
She would often ride pillion with him, but after he died, she seemed to distance herself from us... perhaps the memories were just too painful for her.
It was a great loss for the club, and for me personally. The club didn't last long after we lost Gregg.
He and I did our first Saddlesore 1000 on New Year's Day 2001, from Birmingham to Daytona and back. I'll never forget it.
He rode his Ducati ST2, and I was on the Blackbird.
Several stories I could tell of that trip, and for several reasons. But not right now.
I did basically nothing yesterday, except take the time to see Heart of the Beast at the theater.
It was ok, but I won't say it was great. My attractions to it:
1. the plot (special forces guy crashes his small plane in Alaska),
2. Brad Pitt starred,
3. his companion was a German Shepherd,
4. and I like Alaska.
No spoiler alert.
I'll see it again when it goes to streaming.
It's 46° here now, and that's absurd.
And cold.
Stop it!
I am NOT complaining.
(Are too.)
(Am not.)
(Are too.)
I think I'll start growing my beard again. (Gregg had an awesome beard.)
Time to go, I'm pushing buttons to switch video at church.
As I consider Brenda's funeral tofay after church, I am reminded of our friend Keith's standard closing admonition.
His are wise words.

Mornin’, y’all. Thanks for the needed hot cup this morning, Martin.

After the best night’s sleep in ages, I woke up to 39 this morning. As I stumbled toward the coffee maker, I noticed the thermostat was reading 63, in the hallway. Probably the reason for the deep sleep. (hibernation?). A sunny high of 69 is expected, later today.

Grocery run this morning, then an afternoon of house cleaning. I guess it’s about time to drag out the long britches.

I called a long time friend and co-worker yesterday, since it’s been 2 years since we spoke. He said that he and his wife were always going to a beach on vacation, or planning their next beach vacation, so…… They sold house and 10 acres and bought a home in Vero Beach, FL! He and his wife never earned a lot of money, but both had retirement accounts from 40 years, at the same company. They didn’t realize they were both millionaires, until they retired since they never kept close watch on their accounts.

Good Morning Y'all, still alive but slightly wounded, almost healed my Right shoulder when I have a heavy awning stand fall on my left foot, yeah not wearing my work boots, only bruised, but still sore. My doctor was warning me not to ride because I'm on blood thinners, yeah right, knock on wood, bike is the safest place for me, House has caused more injuries than I can count. Weather has been good, Sunny with highs in the mid 60 F 's . Today's agenda, Mount Starlink receiver on a pole, but first put on my work boots. Stay healthy, G

Morning Martin & All from not too sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently, besides clouds rolling in from the south, it is 52F, up from 42F and heading for 63F, with possible rain. No breeze right now, but later the winds will be out of the W@ 8 to 9mph. The weather guessers continue to change their forecasts, so now we are to have rain today, tomorrow, Thursday & Friday. We'll see! :well1:

Yesterday, I helped Chris load up most of her stuff in the Highlander, we'll finish loading it in a bit and then she'll be off to ST George until the 26th. So no Adult Supervision, what's a guy to do? :run1::nuke1::potstir1::radleak:

I have church, also, in a bit that's about it for my plans!

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast, OJ & Lemon Tea, for the morning start. A Pepsi for later.

Anyone :bk13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

G'dafternoon from SoMD! I wish I could report a late awakening, but the Prince Of Purrrsia resolutely disallowed it this morning. 41F/5C when I fed the royal PITA, pretty sure we dipped into the 30s but too lazy to go check the history. An hour or so later a crawled back out from under the covers to go retrieve some groceries from BJ's since they're having a 42nd anniversary sale, hence various items are 42% off like ground beef, coffee, etc. And since I had rewards saved up, my small haul was free...I didn't pick it up on the bike though certainly could have. Returned home in just time to complete my caffeination, thanks Martin!

Yesterday was supposed to be a double-header of shows, but we didn't have an audience for last night so it was cancelled. Got to go home early. Sad but I'm not that sad about it. I felt we did good in the afternoon show, much better than Friday night's opening. No matinee today so I am off until Wednesday's brush-up rehearsal. So, I get to catch up on all the honey-dos like laundry, change the oil in the Av, walk the dog, and made an actual breakfast for us, mini waffles. What else could get done, oh the possibilities are...well, not endless...encouraging but not promising anything. And if anyone was tracking, the other show I did the lights for at the last sec? Not a peep from them since. Not a thank you or anything. So, I'll have an easy excuse next time they try that.

Welp gonna go. Everybody have a good one & take care y'all!
