They say you should start the day by waiting at least two hours before drinking your first cup...

But here is the thing: NO... :coffee:

and for tomorrow ;)

G'Day...

14°/26°C, 64% RH, a few clouds scattered above, noticeable wind gusts... 🌤️ 🌬️

home Nespresso charge... ☕

office Nescafé... ☕
(yeah, still not trusting that fully automatic thing in the break room, never will... it screams, hisses, smells and always signals [OUT OFF ******!] & [PLEASE REFILL!]... 😒)

ze GF is really happy with her new shades though:

IMG_20260702_191948_777.jpg
each individually powered, with remocon, fancy... 😎

once I've replaced the dreaded 5/4" check-valve on the tube-well

IMG_20260702_080557.jpg

I'm gonna doze off behind them during the w/e... 😎

As she's going on vacation daughter #1 will force cat sitting upon ze GF, hence she (ze GF) needs to stay at her place next week...
turning me into a 'straw widower', as it makes absolutely no sense to cross through the entire town twice a day...
traffic is havoc, despite schools being out (where you'd normally expect all the jokers to leave the city...) and then there the parking fees...

So I intend to spent 2~3 hours at the bike shed each evening, see that I'll get along with a few of the 'to-do's'...
(... and basically recuperating therapy from that madhouse here at the office... 😎)

currently starting to feel a bit depresso... staring into an empty mug... :coffee:

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the start, Martin. With Mrs. Fun out of town for a week, I too am a "straw widow"

At the moment (0417) it's already (or, more accurately, "still") 80°F in Rockville. Sunny with a high of 100 is called for later, and you can pile on another ten to the feels-like.

Indoor activities today, for the most part, but I need to get out for a bike ride first. My plan is to cover every street in the neighborhood, with as little duplication as I can manage, until I reach my mileage goal and can return home. Hopefully I can contrive to do 30 or 40 miles and never be more than a handful of miles from the house, in case things get too gnarly.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Morning all, and thanks Martin for the startup.

15C for the ride in, under fog cover. Said fog is the result of last evening's extended light & thunder show, which rendered the hot pavement and grounds into steam producing machines. This should burn off soon and lead us into our heat warning of 40C under full sun.

On the home front, we're getting ready for our annual Canada Day party, held a couple days late this year. Having it on a weekend allows those who choose to celebrate in excess, to have some reprieve the next morning from having to stagger to work.

Hope everyone has a super day and stays cool.

Obo.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's sunny and 73, going up to 95 with continued Sun.

Yesterday's track day was warm. Cars and drivers generally behaved, but we had one go into a wall and lose his wheel. Other than that, it was just spinouts and drivers going off-road and back.
Brenda was going to cook, but I suggested that we dine out, so as to not heat up the house more.

We'll probably spend another day indoors so stay cool.
Yeah.. that sounds like a plan...

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Mornin and thanx for the cuppa Nescafe Martin! Wx is amazing here this morning, mid 50s warming to hi 70s.
Vaca week and got out for 2 of the best rounds of golf Ive played in a long while. And that after a nice wknd previous riding to the mid state BMW rally with a good friend. Bike ran beautifully and the ride was thoroughly enjoyed.
Birthday weekend and wife and I are headed up to stay w our daughter for the weekend before going in up to Quinns Hot Spring in western Montana for a few days of relaxing and golf.
Enjoy your wknd and the ensuing celebration.
Tim

Good morning all!
Stay the course, Martin!
Another warm lovely day here on the Bruce Peninsula!
Headed to buy a used 7’ scraper blade, for my old tractor today. That will keep me occupied during the hottest part of the day!
Enjoy your day!
WB
Thanks Martin.
Funny to be drinking coffee on a hot morning already. 30°C here in Southern Onrario.
(@gmtech cutting your grass will make you sweat buckets even on the rider mower).

Must be beautiful in Pike Bay. I must get up your way and do my usual visit to the old cottage neighbours. I'll make sure I stop to say 'hi'.

Will be trying finish the rear deck today. A few cedar boards needed replacing. It's funny I had to replace some of them 4-5 ywars ago. My dad a deck at the lake - around the corner from Pike Bay - where 5 boards were replaced in 25 years. Must be farm raised cedar these days. Once the boards are in place I'll add a coat of sealer. Hopefully it wont rain.

Was out for a ride to a brewery the other night. Nice breeze. Temps had dropped to a more comfortable 27°C. The updated aux light brackets (ver. 3) worked well. Hopefully they will be the design that doesn't break off. I ride at night sometimes and they offer that 'I can see clearly down the road now' (singing to myself).
Stay safe out there everyone.
Dave

Thanks Martin.
Here, it's nearing a heap big celebration, and obviously it's already started.
And while there is much unrest, angst, and even division in our land, and in the world, I believe it is important to consider how far we have come, and recognize that we have the capacity for self correction.
I am reminded the real question is not whether our glass is half-empty or half-full, but rather... can the glass be refilled?
Life can be many things, but should always be viewed in perspective.
Have a grand day.

Morning Matrin & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently @ 10Am, it is 77F, heading for 87F. The winds are already blowing, from the SSW @ 11mph. Later, they'll be from the WSW @ 15 to 18mph.

Yesterday, I was able to get another coat of Kilz on the door frame. Today, I'll break out the regular paint and get a couple of coats on it. Hopefully, this will be able to last more than a year or two. The Sun on that side of the house is pretty brutal!

I also got out on the :dr13:, for an extended ride around the neighborhood.

Today, Chris wants to can Apricots, so I'll pull out the grill for her to boil the on. And I have to go get some prescriptions that I forgot to get, yesterday while picking up hers! :censored:

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast and OJ, starting out the morning. Pepsi(s) scheduled for later!

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:
