swapped the rotors last night, so its smooth sailing... err... braking again...
wavy wear pattern on the eBay items indicates the cut being off... very...
seller responded "... one or both disks?..."... pfffff... take an educated guess...

Found a company offering to cut/smooth motorcycle brake disks... € 80,-/piece...
considering time and effort for tooling, etc an absolute fair price... the costs would however exceed the original eBay purchase...
And there is no guarantee the Chinesium alloy would remain true during later usage/heat cycles...
I'll book the episode under "tuition fees" and will have to find out how the allegedly German made TRW rotors from Louis perform...

So, I'll try my luck with the '94 ST at the MOT station this (hot) afternoon...
We'll have to find out if they discover/object the HEL brake lines, or anything else...

Replaced the rotors on my sons Rav4 yesterday, he paid about $100 for a pair of Brembo rotors incl shipping from Germany…

Started yesterday with another fishing trip, quite dark and gloomy in the middle of the day, but the day ended in sun, and a happy son with new rotors and pads, ok ok, on his car. ( I had a set oem pads lying around).

Today wil be the usual, cleaning house, buy shrimps and wine etc etc….

15˚c/59f, 20mph wind from west, overcast.

I'd happily pay the € 440,-/piece for new OEM 316mm ST1100 rotors... if I could only get them anywhere on this planet...

Ha! The eBay vendor responded, offering a replacement set... do I want to even try?
I guess I'll take them...
And then I'll buy a welder, teach ze GF how to use it so she can start some art projects, decorating her garden...
(a wind chime made of motorcycle rotors likely sounds like cathedral bells at a royal wedding... )

It's 67°F and clear in Rockville. We'll warm by 20°F with a feels-like of between 8 and 12 °F higher until about 2000 hours.

It's a goof day once again, and we're playing one of the county courses that's farther from home than most others, so it'll be most of the day.

Other than that, I've got very little on my agenda.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

16 and fog for the ride to work. They are saying 24 and rain for the ride home. There was no rain predicted before I left the house this morning, so I guess it will be a wait and see.

It's 63 and foggy in MA this morning, rising to 80 with partly cloudy skies.

Yesterday was a dreary day, and except for the PT visit , I did nothing.

Today , I'll head to the track for the practice day of the 24hrs of Lemons race weekend. That should be interesting.

Glad you didn't have to break into a locked breakroom, Martin. And sorry about the tuition fees.
Nice ride to work yesterday with Kaiser, but we were late due to putting the full-size tire I plugged, on Roz' Civic.
It held air yesterday with not one but two small repaired punctures. Did it hold overnight?
Oh, yeah.
I just walked over to check.
The tire is still fully round, and the rim is off the ground. Roz doesn't realize how lucky she is to have me.
But as I'm down to one sticky rubber worm, I better order more today.
At least these are working a whole lot better than when I have tried using rubber worms to catch fish. My success rate using worms in leaky tires far outpaces my failures at fishing.
I'll have to admit I would starve to death, if I had to depend on catching fish to eat.
I rarely catch a thing.
On the other hand, I can shoot reasonably well, so there's that...
In fact, when I learned to dive years and years ago, I had originally intended to become an underwater hunter, and use a speargun to shoot amberjack in the Gulf of... America.
It wasn't called that then, but the ocean is less than four hours' drive from my house.
And I haven't been diving in a long time.
And I never did buy a speargun, or shoot an amberjack. Or any other fish.
Well, they say "Life's a beach, and then ya dive."
Bring on the weekend, I'm ready for one.
