techlusion device

I am making a total guess here because there isn't enough technical information included in that document to know what it does or how it does it. Unless I missed it completely I didn't see any mention of it defeating the O2 sensors in that TechFusion document. What it seems to do is increase the dwell time of each injector, that is increase the number of Milli-seconds that each injector stays open during each cycle and therefore causing them to inject more fuel. It doesn't seem to do anything else like change any temperature sensor readings or O2 sensor readings. If this is the case, because nothing else is being manipulated, I suspect that after installation and adjustment the extra fuel will cause the ECM to continually see a richer mixture than it is programmed to accept based on the O2 sensor data it is being sent. The ECM will always attempt to correct this to get it back to what it has been programmed is acceptable. Over time the ECM will reduce the injector dwell time in an attempt to get the O2 sensor readings back to where they are supposed to be. The net effect will be that the reduced injector dwell time commanded by the ECM plus the additional dwell time added by this unit at initial set-up will put the total injector dwell time right back to where Honda progrmmed it to be. The result will in essence be no effect at all. This is what happened with all of these systems that I have read about, they were all defeated by the ECM responding to what it considered to be readings that are out of acceptable parameters. The ECM continually compensated until the readings returned to acceptable parameters. Unless the ECM is reprogrammed to accept something different it will always manipulate the fuel delivery until it gets back to seeing what it has been programmed to accept.

From what I have read Honda never released any ST1300 ECM data to the aftermarket world so all of the companies that have tried to manipulate the ST1300 fuel maps have failed. Based on what Catmandu has written the Bazzaz system seems to be the only one that has ever achieved any success and actually allows for multiple fuel maps. I lost interest in these systems and I have never read up on it deeply enough to know what it does or how so I have no idea how it accomplishes this when all other products seem to have failed. I guess a read through of Camandu's threads about it would provide the answer.

Luftmeister- I would be curious to know if this system includes any other additions to what is in that document. Are there any other add-ons that are manipulating the the engine temperature readings, the air intake temperature readings, the O2 sensor readings, etc.? Also, do have any accurate figures of what your fuel consumption is averaged over time? If nothing else is being manipulated, and if you are close to the same MPG range as what most people report for the ST1300, this would lead me to believe that over time this system has been defeated by the ECM and is no longer doing anything.

Thanks for all the help all, I did pull it off and the bike runs and accelerates exactly as it did before. :shrug1:

It's for sale, shall we start the bidding at $5000 USD?

With the Bazzaz setup (un-obtainium now),,, which came from the hard core race world,, the O2 sensors are replaced by emulators,,, so the ecm always gets a signal that everything is optimum, no matter what is going on. The fuel maps command the injector durations to open longer or close sooner,,, depending on the map values for each given rpm and throttle position. I have never had any indication that the ecm changes or learns or varies over time. But I'll to out on a limb here and suggest that BlueSTar might well be one of the quickest (not fastest) ST13's around. But as I stress in my previous thread,,, the FI mod was only one of several mod's which must all work together towards the combined outcome. Only making one change (like an FI mod) will only make a small improvement at best, and no difference (or a performance decrease or damage) at worst. Cheers, CAt'

Here is another fun fact on the FI topics. I notice that Fortnine sells a Dynajet Power Commander for the ST1300. I did not think that was legit (but wasn't sure),,, so I contacted Dynajet and they confirmed that they no long make any FI modules for the ST13. I contacted Fortnine,,, and gave them Dynaet's comments,,, and they said something like,, "oh,,, really". A year later,,, they are still marketing it for the ST1300 ??!! sheeesh,,,, CAt' ps: it's only $710.cdn a pop

I would not expect the ECM to effect any such change with the set up that you have. As you wrote, the O2 sensors were also replaced with emulators. The emulators cause the ECM to see O2 sensor signals that it expects to see and that are within the parameters of its programming. As a result it sees no need to modify the fuel delivery because it thinks that the mixture is where it is supposed to be.
