Looks heavy and very bulky. If two people get in there they will roll/slide together in the middle all night.

Hmm.... You could put a box with wheels under it and call it a ..... Bunkhouse!

Oh wait... somebody already did that.

You don't actually sleep on the cold ground unless you haven't paid any attention to any of the camping discussions or, like @paulcb , you forgot your air mattress.

You get an air mattress with an R rating which will insulate you from the 'cold ground' Your body will heat up that mattress as well and allow you to have a good night's sleep.

Even with cots... you need a mattress of some sort ... Why? What's the first thing to ice over? Bridges!

I wonder if this would help keep out nasty critters and reptiles during the night.

Chris
Just the short ones... but this only raises you to mouth-level of the tall ones.

Sorry, not trying to discourage cots, many here use them... for me, it's too much extra stuff to bring and they do nothing for me... many here do prefer not having to get off the ground vs from a sitting position in a cot. If they work for you, great.

I am not an experienced camper but this is the tent I bought in August, I don’t have the cot part and think it might be a bit bulky on a bike. If I was to buy it again I would choose a bit larger tent.
