The best battery for your ST

In my experience it is the original equipment battery that came with the bike, both an ST 1100 which I bought a 96, and ST 1300 which I bought in 2004.

If only you could get the battery they put in the new ones!

I got my 1100 in August of '18 and put in an $88 AGM from Walmart. No battery tender or fuel treatment, just under a Dowco cover outdoors. The past two springs, and every other time, it has started as if it had been ridden the day before.

Best price, free shipping, and half the cost of a dealer....no affiliation with this place, other than I've been ordering batteries from them for several years with outstand customer service etc.
Order the Genuine Honda Factory Battery, it has the most cranking power, and last the longest, and they last about 5-7 years!
I think my last one cost around $113 dollars (don't quote me)
I order them Monday, and they are on my doorstep Tuesday (pre-covid)

All right a Battery Thread. 2 years on my dealer bought Yuasa and all is good, I usually get around 9 years each on them.

It has been my experience that the Yuasa replacement batteries are not of the same quality as the ones that came in the bike. Of the 3 that I bought as replacements, all 3 failed in less than 5 years. One failed during its second season. Because of that, I have gone to using generics and just replacing every few years rather than wait to be left stranded.
I realize that is not everyone's experience but I don't think I am alone in finding replacement Yuasa batteries being iffy.

Here's what it returned. They have different letters in the middle of the part numbers, and they have different shapes.

I'm guessing the most expansive original price? They're all marked down:

Yuasa claims that they are supplying this factory-activated battery to OEMs. It fits the ST1100.

On my ST1100 I got 7+ years out of the OEM Yuasa, followed by 7+ years on a replacement Yuasa, followed by 7+ years on an Interstate replacement, and now I'm on another Interstate replacement.

My experience is there was nothing special about the original battery, all the replacements have lasted just as long.

But, my batteries never see temperatures lower than about 50F, and the bike is ridden all year long, so I'm pretty easy on batteries in general.

Anyone know the differences among A, H, L, AH., AHL, etc.?

Added: There's a serious mix of reviews on Amazon about the GYZ16H.

Would you mind a hint, please? Their site is tedious, with no sort by bike or search.
Sure there is a search by bike. Honda OEM part search sites are plentiful on line. Cycle Parts Nation and Ron Ayers are two that come to mind. Choose Honda OEM, Motorcycle, Year, Model, then sub section. The battery is found in Battery section oddly enough.

The OEM battery for a ST1300 is part number 31500-MCR-D02AH. For a ST1100 its P/N 31500-HC4-726AH.

If you live in a fairly large city and have an Exide master distributor nearby, give them a call. In the USA, OEM batteries are supplied by Exide to Honda dealers. It's in a Honda box and it's a Yuasa.

Wow......that's crazy pricing. Luckily it's marked down 42%

This is US pricing, my price even at $136 is still handy to $200 CAN without shipping.
