Yeah, Monday's ugly sister... 😒
I'm sipping a lava hot beverage while sweating and call it 'comforting'...
simple because "more espresso makes me less depresso"... :coffee:

G'Day...

22°/34°C, soggy @ 62% RH, another day with glaring blue skies... ☀️
tomorrows forecast shows thunderstorm warnings and significant temperature drop...

home Nespresso... :coffee:

commute on ST without any incidences...
ze GF on her NT however reports that 'they' have fumbled with traffic-light timing again, causing massive backlog...
she was able to filter by... she's grown quite reckless in that... ;)

office Nescafé... ☕
and a full inbox... ugh...

but as we've learned:
whenever you manage to finish a task, management will always come up with 'new' work ideas...
the obvious conclusion:
simply don't finish your tasks on time... ever... 😝

have a good one! 😎

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's 67°F and clear in Rockville. At 93 percent humidity, it's also muggy. Sunny with a high of 89 means we'll be quite hot this afternoon and evening and will feel even hotter thanks to the humidity.

I've got a blood draw today ahead of next week's routine visit to my cardiologist, so can eat or drink nothing but black coffee or water until the blood is in the tubes. I'll go early- as soon as they open- because I'm actually rather hungry.

A bike ride has to be on the schedule. Thanks to the blood draw, however, I can't be out as early as I'd like but I guess that means I'll get in some heat tolerance training when I do manage to get out.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Morning all, and thanks for the startup Martin.

How come people can force introverts into being talkative to get them out of their "comfort zone" but no one forces extroverts to shut up to make situations more comfortable?

16 and sunny for the ride into work, with 24 and partly sunny for the ride home.

Once home, it's a quick pack of clothes and head off to help Thing 2 at uni. We'll drive 3 hours tonight to cut down on tomorrows marathon. As tomorrow is the Canada Day holiday we're doing a quick dash to uni, install an A/C unit in an uncooperative window, then dash back home. Should be late tomorrow night when we arrive back. Leaving tonight costs us a hotel, but shaves about 4 hours off tomorrows expected 12-13 hrs. I'd facetimed with Thing2 as they tried to install the window unit on their own, but the bottom frame of the vinyl storm windows just won't let it sit properly. Dad to the rescue, and here I was hoping to have a relaxing day off. 🤷‍♂️

Hope everyone has a great day.

Obo

Martin! Thanks for for cranking up the coffee thread - nobody doesn't need coffee! Yesterday was highly profitable for myself and my 13 year old grandson, satisfaction all around. We pushed the 140 Kawi out of the garage, loaded it into the back of the Maverick, and drove out of town to a rail trail, perfect for learning. However, before leaving the house, some braking lessons. The driveway here is paved, with a slight slope away from the garage. So get on, I'll push you, and use the rear brake to get stopped. About four times then front brake, the both together. First lesson accomplished! Out on the rail trail, he learned about the shifter and clutch, and their needed mechanical cooperation. The quick and eager learner only stalled it about four times, after which he experienced the joy of powered motion on two wheels! The first while it was first gear only, then came a quick description of shifting technique, and multiple rides with a bit more speed. He came away very pleased and thankful! And yes, helmet, boots, and gloves were utilized. Hopefully, we'll go riding together today, but with two bikes on the trailer this time.
Now back to my coffee...

Good morning and thanks for the coffee start. Martin.

It's sunny and 66 in MA this morning, becoming cloudy as the temperature rises to 87, later.
We'll look forward to some isolated thunderstorms, after 4:00pm.

Yesterday's plan didn't go exactly to plan. Joe and his family are on vacation at the NJ shore, so we couldn't visit with them. We did make it to the range, though, after my gym visit. I tried out an H&K CC9, instead of my own pistol, and I was pretty pleased with it.
We had some dinner, and settled in for some World Cup action. ...and some baseball action.

Today will involve more gym time, and some gun cleaning time.

Have a great day,
Steve

Monday's ugly sister, indeed.
The coffee filter didn't do its only job, to just stand up in the coffee basket. It folded, the wet grounds jammed and clogged the spring- loaded drip valve, overflowing the operation onto the counter.
A little cleanup, a new filter, pour the whole basket into a clean bowl, pour the bowl back into the basket... it was too hot to hold the bowl, so I had to quickly dump it all into the basket, and the sudden flood of water and coffee grounds immediately collapsed the new filter, and that's enough of salvage operations.
Somehow it still tastes wonderful, and it may be cowboy coffee at the bottom of my mug. Perhaps a little extra texture.
So what?
Cowboy up.
Ya only get ONE first cup of coffee in a given morning.
Steamy, sultry, summer day in Alabama.
I had to laugh today and yesterday at the warnings and extend heat advisories "with indexes in the triple digits and beyond."
Really?
What is beyond triple digits?
Four digits, right?
So, you're telling me we will have a heat index of one thousand degrees?
Nah.
I don't think so.
Seems I've used a lot of words, talking about my prerequisite morning beverage, so maybe it's time to head to work.
Whatever else may have been said, will have to wait.
But if this is the worst thing that happens to me today, I can't complain.
Safe tripping, @Obo, and maybe you can FaceTime Martin if you need help with the a/c install.
Just don't spill your coffee.

G'mornin' from the office! Thanks for the quick hit before I rode in to work, Martin!

Today is a prequel for the coming week of scalding torture. I was sweating with all my gear on before I'd even threw a leg over. TG for 55mph A/C! Felt like high 70s and 100%RH. Oof.
What is beyond triple digits?
Four digits, right?
When they start reporting the temperature in hexadecimal, start worrying.

Not much else to brag about, probably mow the lawn while I can remain in a solid state tonight. Take care y'all!

Morning Martin & All from sunny Southern Utah!

Currently @ 9AM, it is 66F, heading for 79F. No breeze yet, but later, the winds will be out of the WSW @ 13 to 15mph.

Yesterday Chris sent me to the store to pick up her prescription, so I decided to make the run on the :bl13:. And since I was so close to Hwy 14, I figured I'd make a nice ride out of it. So I rode up to Cedar Breaks and then turned down to Panguitch, thinking I'd hit the road that goes next to a lava flow. But they were doing construction where I would have needed to turn so I continued down to Panguitch, hit Hwy 89 south and rode another 28 miles back to Hwy 14 and back to Cedar City. I was thinking of riding down to ZION NP, but it was getting late, so I decided to cut the ride short. I did 147 miles. It was good to get out and ride, but I need to do more of that! :sneaky-2x:

Today, Chris and her sisters will be here, at sometime. We'll see what time they show up. In the meantime, I'll get the door frame of the garage side door painted and get that out of the way.

I'll be heading to the kitchen, once I finish this and get some eggs, bacon bits, toast & OJ. Pepsi(s) for later.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Good Morning,58 F warming 10 higher later today, oh yeah Cloudy, humidity 79 % wind gusting to 9 mph. Thanks Martin for coffee and Starting the conversation. Today's agenda,go to bank and pay property taxes on Williams lake property and pay Rent for the airport house. In me talk ride all over the place. Okay enough blabbering, time to ride, Y'all stay healthy and alive, G

Morning all! Overcast and grey here today. The high will be 19C, it's 12C right now.

Caught the tail end of the ferry traffic into downtown this morning which meant more than the usual number of left lane campers or people moving into the left lane from the right just as you are overtaking them. Still and all, a good ride in.

You're a good father Obo. Safe travels.

Hope everyone has a great day!
