The NT1100 Thread

I got my Silverwing this way (I’m the 3rd owner)- the older gent I bought it from dropped it while still in his garage- had a few flaws in the armor from the falls that I was able to correct. It had only 4812 miles when I bought it- now, it’s at 13,500 miles in the past 3 years I have owned it. As said above, sometimes health gets in the way and prevents one from riding, hence, low mileage bikes at great prices.

Puig Report
I’m just back from a 20 mile circuit with the new Puig shield. With the shield in position 2^ my view was well above the rim. I was seriously not impressed with the constant buffeting at all speeds. The helmet shield could be raised without making it worse though.
In position 3^ the first ten feet were looking through the shield - viewing a few feet in front of the tire to infinity.
I fell in love.
No buffeting at all from 65 to 9 t and with the face shield raised just a puff of a breeze.
At 55 there was a small remnant of the stock shield buzz and raising the face shield amplified it a bit too much.
Below that speed, clean air once again.
For reference I’m 5’8”, long legs, short in the saddle.

How many positions for the shield are on the NT? 3 or 4?

EDIT: Just looked it up- it has 5 positions, so I guess you could raise it such that you’re looking through the shield.

New NT1100 waiting for you at Aurora Honda

If anybody here is still looking for or wondering where they can acquire a Brand New NT1100, Aurora Honda (303-3417200) (https://www.aurorahondapowersports.com/) (aurorahondaco@gmail.com) Aurora ,Colorado 200 S. Potomac St 80012 has on on there floor right now. If you get in touch with them drop my name as they know me well. I have no financial interest in this as I already have my NT1100. This is a mom and pop Honda dealer and very good, trustworthy, excellent folks. Tim, Jon, Adam, Giselle,

Trying to come up with a name for mine. High on my list are Bluebonnet and Blue Bye. The Ferret's red NC is Angry Bird so I could go with Blue Bird or Big Blue Bird maybe just Big Blue. Another thought is Deep Blue as in Deep Blue Sea. Lots of good stuff to work with using the blue color.

Wild Blue or Nila (dark blue in sanskrit) or maybe Sky or Skye
A couple more:
Jay or Jaybird - Azure or Azura
or maybe the famous...

I could name mine Blue Bells, or Blue Balls. Or Blew by You. Or Blue on Blue. I think for now I will just refer to it as The Honda or the NT11

Its inconceivable to me, that people buy motorcycles, and then dont ride them. I mean WHY?
In about 2017 I bought 2 1987 Honda Rebel 250's. Blue one with 20-some thousand and red one with 170 miles on it. Guy had gone out and bought 'his and hers' bikes: she didn't ride hers, but he kept it maintained (the mileage was from him 'exercising' it a few times around the block periodically) until the day she died. He even had a log book where he'd periodically changed out the fluids, etc. Hope springs eternal, I suppose. Worried me b/c so much time sitting, but even the minimal maintenance and riding seemed to have kept it in good nick. After my own requisite maintenance and new hoses/tires/etc, it became my daughter's first bike and was bulletproof.

I don't feel any heat from the motor, and I live in Alabama. Having said that riding in Alabama in summer is going to be hot. Kind of like hearing a fella say, "Yeah, but this bike has wind noise."

"You do realize you're riding a motorcycle, right?"

Heat and wind are in the nature of the beast, some worse than others, but none are immune. Yes, the NT is a hot bike when in a Alabama summer, but not as hot as a ST.

Your reply could be more helpful to me if you could compare the heat compared to your previous or current rides that did not have heat like the ST1300. You have owned RTs... What is the NT like compared to those?
