Throttle Rocker I

I have a crampbuster sitting around taking up space if you're interested.

Does anyone know where I can get the Throttle Rocker I? I don't like the second version with the velcro.

Hi Laura. +1 on not caring for the Throttle Rocker II design with the damn velcro. Evidently they didn't protect their USA patent well enough and Crampbuster sued them and won. IMHO, the Crampbuster is of inferior design, but at least it doesn't have the velcro so it can be adjusted/rotated while underway, which for me (and many others) is probably the key feature of the original Throttle Rocker, besides the TR I's excellent ergonomic shape (still retained on the TR II). IINM, you can still get the TR I in Canada as the Crampbuster suit didn't apply there. Good luck finding an original, I sure love mine (14 yrs and 100K+, so far). BTW, the TR II also comes in a left side version which I put on my 91 SSMST a couple of years ago. That one works out OK as you can fix it in a permanent position and leave it.

Hi John....that is the exact reason I didn't like the velcro version...can't move it while riding. I found a website in Canada and it states they have both, but I sent them an email to make sure.

I'll let you know the outcome.

Please do, Laura. Good luck and thanks for confirming my belief with the link.

edit: BTW, I have a VistaCruise throttle lock, AudioVox cruise control, AND a Throttle Rocker I (and TR II). I use all three throttle controls at different times on almost every ride.

My understanding is that TR licensed the design from CB, who held the patent. For reasons unknown, CB declined to renew TR's license.

I had an original TR, and currently have a CB, and don't think there's any significant difference between them.

I probably should get the Cruise Control that alot of you have been talking about, but right now I'm trying to pay off this last 2 week trip LOL. Still doing research on the different CC's.

OK...They got back to me and assure me that they have the Throttle Rocker 1!
Going to order a couple now. Thanks for everyones help and thank you for the offer Mellow!

Thanks for the followup, Laura. Good to know. Haven't worn my TR I out, yet. At over 100K now the pebbled surface is smooth and shinny though. :) Gotta love the contoured, egonomic shape of the TRs. Beats the Crampbuster, hands down (heh).
