G'Day...

2°/4°C, overcast, damp, more drizzle, rain, sleet predicted for the afternoon... ghastly...

Home Nespresso, still nipping my office Nescafé... ☕

Since 0000 hrs I'm legally permitted to use m/ways again... ;)

Driving conditions are as expected this time of year...
slightly too warm for ice, but dew, thawing agents, tire abrasion, and other remnants mixed into a slick film on the tarmac, lingering for the unaware...

back to the absolute dull task of updating product prices... pfffff... :cautious:

But its pre-Friday...

Morning all!

-13/-17 here and a few clouds as I can see some stars still. Later, there will be no visible stars, maybe a bit of Sun (but unlikely) and temps of -4/-9.

Got a few more things done last night on the home front. The railing from upstairs to downstairs is installed, which was brought to the forefront by my MIL falling down the stairs Christmas Eve. Yes, we needed a railing, but unsure if it would have helped that night due to the copious amounts of wine that had been consumed. She was staggering when she hit the door at the top of the stairs and before someone could get to help her, whoops, down she went. She didn't remember a thing the next morning.

Have a great day!

Obo.

Thanks again Martin, both for the coffee AND the update on your travel woes. While you live in a beautiful country, the man-made bureaucratic environment that has developed since last I visited, sounds atrocious.
Much like our very own California... the natural beauty is spoiled (for me at least) by politics and other non-natural conditions, effectively diminishing what inclination I may otherwise have to spend time there.
And that may be a good or a bad thing, depending on ... well, whatever.
But lest I steer the conversation into dangerous waters, I'll go no further.
We're halfway through our help doc conversion process, maybe a little more. If we complete the task in a week, we'll be able to cancel our subscription to the old provider platform, and save our company a flat thousand dollars a month.
Meanwhile, every afternoon I remember some tidbit of a something I've meant to share with y'all... and every morning (2 or 3 mornings now) I don't recollect what it was.
This is one of a handful of methods that I employ, in order to annoy myself.
As they say, it's obviously not "that" important.
Speaking of being annoyed...
"People who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do."
Have a smile, and a good day.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's 3f/-16c in MA this morning, with a beautiful blue sky. As I type this, the sun is just rising to the east.
It'll rise to 31f/-0.5c later, and we may see a cloud or so.

Yesterday, I did a light leg/core workout at the gym, and eventually took the neighbor's dog for a walk in the Outback. I took some over-shoe crampons with me in case of ice, but really needed my snowshoes. As I said, yesterday, the Corps of Engineers took their snowmobiles down the walking trails, but that still left about 6" of uneven snow. I got a better leg and cardio workout than at the gym, that's for sure!

Today, I'll head over to the gym in a bit, and then whatever else comes up.
I finished Clancy's "Cardinal of the Kremlin" last night, and will probably move on to the next one.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Well, I've the impression that every bureaucracy, taxation, etc... seems to be first instated in the US, to hit the old world like 20 years later...
Just like plateau shoes or bell-bottom pants... incoming, from the west, 2 decades later...

Greetings, Earthlings.

Not to worry, I'm here, I'm just in the throes of a major flare-up of RA (rheumatoid arthritis) that seems to be concentrated in my hands, which makes typing (and everything else) very painful. Can't fully close either hand and can't pick up a mug of coffee without wincing and emitting "yeow" noises. Time to get myself back to the specialist, methinks, and I suspect he'll want to get me back on the "big" meds, probably biologics. Sigh. Oh, joy.

We've had a run of lovely, sunny days after a whole lot of snow, but it's still pretty cold. -13°C/9°F with a feels-like of -20°C/-4°F now, high of -7°C/19°F with a windchill of -12°C/10°F later.
@Obo: the contract I had training Google to recognize accents ended and they don't have any more such projects at the moment, so I'm back to zero workwise, I'm afraid. Can't type very well anyway at the moment and certainly not quickly, so I guess it's just as well.

Have a good one, folks, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Good morning everyone

It's 17°F and very sunny in Rockville. Later today it will still be sunny, and pushing 30°F. Much, MUCH later it'll be sunny and pushing 95. GET ON WITH IT ALREADY, why don'cha Mother Nature.

Yesterday evening's outing took place but in a much-abbreviated format, as the scheduled keynote speaker had to cancel for reasons of "urgent family business". But they still fed us and had free sake samples to offer so it wasn't a total loss.

It's Thursday, making it uke group day. I've told everyone that I'll be there an hour early to practice various melody and finger-picking techniques, and invited interested parties to join me. It'll be interesting to see who shows. One thing is for certain: I'll be learning more than teaching.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good Morning, Thanks Martin, woke up real early due to a cramp in my left foot, why I get muscle cramps when I'm asleep I don't know. So yeah Gates opened, breakfast made,Bacon, eggs, cheese slices on toast, and COFFEE. Today's plan go for ride after lunch temperature is supposed to hit 12 C , right now 2 C Clear Skies with a light ground Fog . Moon and Stars were easy to see. Sun rise in a hour from now.
Patty may your hands stop hurting quick. Y'all have a good day if you can, G

@Peppermint you should try some of those voice to text, accessibility features.

My (limited) experience with those things is that they make as much work as, or perhaps more work than, directly typing what I want. I suspect that's even more true when the topic at hand involves numerous, arcane technical terms.

Speaking strictly for myself, I also find that when I'm trying to dictate something my speech pattern is much choppier because I am simultaneously trying to think what to say and reading what I just said. My poor little internal processor can't handle two streams at once.

Morning Martin & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 37F, up from 23F and heading for 59F. No breeze yet, but this afternoon, the winds will becoming from the NW @ 6 to 8mph.

Patty, sorry to hear about your RA flaring up!

I finished moving the blocks to the side of the shed. Then I continued the skirting of the shed deck. I still have some more to do in the front of the deck. But it's looking pretty good.

I'm not sure what I'll be doing today. Last night my throat started hurting, so I took some Vitamin C and a Zinc. Once I start get around I'll see how I feel.

We'll have some breakfast, once Chris wakes. Pepsi(s) for later.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

G'dafternoon y'all! Short update since I'm bored at the airport waiting to board. Can't give a temp but it's above freezing based on all the liquid water I drove through getting here.

Its been hectic getting everything done plus dealing with last-minute people at work and HOA crap. I wash my hands of them now.

I finished Clancy's "Cardinal of the Kremlin" last night, and will probably move on to the next one.
I loved his books. "Cardinal" wasn't one of my faves. "Without Remorse" is excellent.

Take care y'all!

A little time to let my supper settle!
I now have the boat and the golf cart at home.
I’ll have to check everover!
The golf cart may get a new large lithium- ion battery & charger.
Anyone north of H's Wall should check his email.
