Welcome to today's edition of "mornings suck!"... 😴
Hope you enjoy your coffee served with some cuss words... :coffee:

G'Day...

20°/29°C, abundant rain during the night, thus soggy at 88% RH...
Still mostly cloudy @ 0700hrs, will clear up during the afternoon... ☁️🌥️⛅🌤️☀️

Nespresso at ze GF's... :coffee:
while mounting her pushbike (yep, at times she does that, her office is like 20~30 min from her place 🚴‍♀️ )
she urged me to put my rain jacket on, as there dark, threatening clouds, hence likely rain in the south...
Nah, no rain, just damp and overly warm in that Borealis colored thing... 🥵 ;)

commute with the usual obstacles...
I never understood folks hogging the fast lane, while going significantly slow because they're fumbling on their darn phone... 🤬

office, dull, daily '...now what fresh hell is this?!!...' routine...
but there is Nescafé... <slurp!> ☕

Tomorrows forecast doesn't look great; severe thunderstorms in the afternoon... 🌩️⛈️⛈️
Thus I'll have to bring the '00 ST MOT inspection forward to today... a justifiable reason to get out of this place... 😁

The extensive valve spring compressor kit should arrive today! 🔧
me curious, very curious... 🤔

And: tomorrow is Friday... yay! 😎

Morning Martin and thank you for the coffee start. 62 smokie degrees here in central NY heading to 82. Smoke filled skies from the wild fires from our friends in Canada will be with us till midnight tonight says the weather girl. Have a great day all and be safe out there today. Later!

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's sunny and 60, rising to 84, later. The pink haze is gone, and I can see blue sky for the first time in a few days.

Yesterday's track day started all wrong. They called for an 8:30 start, so I left the house at 7:00 to get there in time to punch in and get to my station.
When I arrived, there was only one other corner marshall in the lot, which made me check my email. The race coordinator changed the time to a 9:30 start,
A few of us don't check email, and showed up way early. Not the first time, and I think I'll not sign up for days that call for an 8:30 start any more.

The track day itself went off okay. Few Club cars, but the race school kept us busy with their shenanigans.
They usually feed us during Club events, and they grilled burgers, dogs and chicken.

We dined out, after I got home, and watched the end of the England/Argentina FIFA game.
I'm well into the Reacher series of books, and I settled into that after dinner, while Brenda watched TV. I checked the list, and I'm currently on book #22, The Midnight Line. It was interesting reading the books, and compairing their plots with the movies in 4 cases.

Today, I'll visit with the VA for a PT session on my achilles, and maybe a gym visit. I haven't been there, yet this week.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Thx Martin!
Another day, another dollar (spent)…

13˚c/55f, fog, a slight breeze from north, it’s cool, it’s all right.

Yesterdays ride was about three meters from my yard into the garage, but it’s not nothing.
I can do with little.
Not wine on Fridays though.

Todays’s been all about cooking a mean chicken soup for a gathering with Mrs Stus’s siblings and their mother this evening…

I am in the process of replacing the deck on the south side of the house, as the old one was rotten.
Will keep me busy for some time..⛏️

Have a sweatless day!

Sounds like another episode of '... I'll endurance just anything to stay out da friggin' house ...' 🤔 ;)
(and those darn granite boulders look kinda heavy... 😟)

Thanks Martin, and congrats on the new tools! Look like some cool gadgets in the tray, and since they all have a designated place in the box, it should help preventing some piece wandering off.
I can't see the color of the sky, but the air all around me is deep fog-colored. Can barely see down the street at all.
Another silly "excessive heat warning", but the high is only 88° -- and that's normal for this time of year at this latitude. Should be mostly dry, with slight chance of afternoon showers.
Also normal.
While Steve is reading Jack Reacher, last night I finished the third and final season of Night Watch on Netflix. (Who now charges $20/mo! for basic streaming. Time to cancel?)
It's decent, especially the last season, about another off-the-books U.S. spy agency. One would think we Americans have lots of spies, based on the amount of fictional entertainment about such themes.
...or is it?
I can neither confirm nor deny.
So use your 256-bit encryption, and stock up on burner phones.

Morning all, and thanks Martin for the startup.

17 and sunny, headed to 26 with a possibility of rain.

I have to wonder if mean chickens taste any different from happy chickens, once you start adding carrots, potatoes etc. In fact, I wonder if adding extras to your base car is also where the term "souping them up" came from?

Lots has been done on my vacation, but the list keeps growing, with most of "my list" not being touched. I think there's a conspiracy going on between Mrs. O and the cat. It's OK, I'll just leave the toilet seat up in defiance and blame Thing1 when there's a complaint. It's the small things in life, right?

Hope everyone has a great day, and remembers to leave the toilet seat down. (but elbows up eh!)

Obo.

Never cared for Netflix (actually hate that its forced upon you on every device and remote, had to pop open a Panasonic remote to disable the darn [NETFLIX] button on it once and for all...)
I got a cable/broadband bundle with like +120 UHD stations (of which I actually watch like 5...) and Prime... and not enough time to follow all...

besides:

(but I might miss various series on Apple+ like Silo, The Foundation or The Gorge... 🤔)

G'mornin' from SoMD! Well it's gonna be a broiler today, already 86F/30C before 9:30! And yet, I still drink hot coffee like it's the source of all heat in the Universe. Thanks, Martin!

Not a lot on the agenda, just WFH and whatever little I can get done outside before it becomes completely unbearable (what do the bears think about it?). Then hunker down and wait for it to pass over like the 10th plague. Tomorrow will still be hot but not quite as much, with some pop-up storms thrown in.

Hope you enjoy your coffee served with some cuss words... :coffee:
It would be against this forum's COC, but I'd be curious to hear some of those Austrian curse words, LOL!

I can literally see their eyes in the rear view mirror flick up maybe every 15 seconds to actually see where they are driving. If I was a cop, I'd make my quota by the first day of the month just trolling the commuter traffic.

Take care y'all!

Good Morning, thanks Martin for the Coffee and words of wisdom. Precious woke me up at 6 am, she was thirsty and needed outside. Have opened gate and made breakfast, eggs on Pancakes and Most important COFFEE. Mostly Sunny, 16 C high 22 C, clouds coming from Seattle area so iPhone says. Not awake enough yet to plan today's agenda, so might try for a morning nap. G

I never understood folks hogging the fast lane, while going significantly slow ...... for any reason
I have always considered this to be one of the more dangerous things that are allowed to take place on multi-lane highways that have high travel speeds. It is far more dangerous than speeding when everyone is more or less speeding to the same degree. Many of the drivers who come up behind these people get frustrated when this person won't move to the right. As a result they attempt to pass them on the right. This leads to people being cut off, people having to slow down unexpectedly and quickly, people changing lanes unexpectedly and abruptly and then tailgating the vehicle in front of them as they try to get ahead of the idiot in the left-hand lane. This all leads to road rage of varying degrees.

There should be enforcement against this behaviour, and fines for the people who do it. I can't see that happening however since the police themselves seem to have a stronger preference for that far left-hand lane more than anybody else does.

Morning Martin & All from a cloudy day in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 83F, heading for 86F with thunderstorms promised for the day. We'll see. :well1: The winds are coming from the SSW @ 6 mph, later we could see them from the SE @ 12 to 14mph.

The planter is done for now. I still need to lay some ground cloth and gravel down, up to it, but Chris and I planted her Iris's and watered them. now to see if they make it. :cautious:

Today, I'm waiting for the repair guy to look at our fridge. It's running too low (30F) and it won't take adjusting it. So there goes some $$$$! :box1:

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) to follow later.

Anyone :bk13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

I assume the enforcement you'd like to see is for folks driving too slow in the left lane?

I know here, there's a common misconception that passing on the right is illegal, but there are cases where it is permissible (although not recommended due to the inherent dangers of doing so...) You must also still obey any posted speed limits.

When passing on the right allowed:
  • Making a left turn: When the vehicle ahead is turning left or signaling to do so.
  • One-way streets: When driving on a designated one-way street where there is sufficient width for two or more lanes of traffic.
  • Multi-lane highways: When driving on a street or highway marked for two or more lanes of traffic moving in the same direction.
