8°/12°C @ soggy 85% RH today, gray, overcast ghastly...

unruly night, half past six and on my 2nd cup already...

aaaaand... ze GF's NT700VA is in the shipyard again...
last night, while filtering by a stationary queue sitting at a red light, she got doored by a rear seat passenger...
at not even an arm's length no chance for any reaction... just WHAM!...
the swing of the car's door plus the forward momentum then forced the NT violently to the right and threw it into a parked car,
which too suffered some significant damage...
After exchanging contact and insurance data she walked to the nearest police station to properly report the damage
to the parked car (owner not present), so there is no "hit and run" case, from where she then called...

Aside a sore thumb and a bruised right hip she's fine, but pissed and, typical, kinda blaming herself... coulda woulda shouda...
I told her to skip that, she simply got doored by that imbecile (who admitted to not paying any attention), end of statement...

The NT suffered a shattered headlight (slamming into that door), and while impacting the parked car the more severe damages like
warped/twisted cowl stay, shattered right upper fairing, instrument visor, etc...

But she bravely enough insisted to ride it to the shed across town herself... me tailing in her Skoda...

And to make my day even better, I started the data & account transfer to my new phone...
started the process at about 0530hrs... anger and frustration are gonna pre-programmed... literally...

Life never gets boring over here...

However, tomorrow is Friday!

Really sorry to hear about zeGF and the bike. Here in the US, it would be just as likely the passenger opened the door intentionally.
Coming backbone from Kalifornia on the GSA a couple years back I truly enjoyed legally splitting lanes on the crowded freeways, and many folks actually maneuvers over to help me through the tight stuff.
I would be on pins and needles IF they ever legalized lane splitting in Alabama, as I imagine it would take YEARS for these dimwitted cagers to get the message.
Coffee's on over here, too.
2 days and 2 wakeups till my coaching class, and I need a break.
Badly.
Don't recall my last "vacation", it may well have been that 2 (or 3?!) years ago this time of year when I flew out to RawHyde for training and to pick up the bike.
I think everyone should get two weeks of vacation, at least twice a month.
Especially at my age.
And I see I have used the words "year" and "years", to excess in this post.
Maybe that's what time does to me.
But for now, I'm focusing on the next two weekENDS and the days in between.
Fun times, at last...

Thanks for the coffee Martin, and sorry to hear about ze GF's latest misadventure.

It's 52°F and reportedly mostly cloudy in Rockville; I'll confirm that report when I wheel the bins to the curb in a bit. Mostly sunny with a high around 73 is the call for later on.

Yesterday's one-on-one uke meetup went well, and the half round of goof was fun despite mediocre play on my part. Thursday = uke day for me. Before that, I'll pedal my way up to the place where our big multi-club uke jam is set to happen in a couple weeks, to lay out the rental fee and security deposit.

I need to get cracking on other preparations, like choosing the order of events, making some signs, lining up volunteers, and so forth.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Sorry to hear about ze GF, but glad she's okay.

It's clear and dark 37f/3c in MA this morning, rising to 67f/19c with continued sunny skies.

Bladder had me awake at 5:00, and couldn't get back to sleep, so the cats got fed early-ish

Yesterdays Club track day went off well, and we had enough cars there that we ran until the 4:00pm stop time.
I never got a chance to wash up the VFR, but I'll try to rectify that, today.
I've got a midday appointment with the VA for another PT session, so I'll do whatever else before or after.
The gym is calling, as is the neighbor's dog.

Rode to work this morning, despite it being only 2C. Dark and clear, and traffic was OK. It's supposed to get up to 12 and sunny for the ride home. Rain is in the books for tomorrow, which I guess is better than the white stuff at this point.

Good morning, everyone. I’m sorry to hear about you GF’s mishap. The damage should buff out, by taking her to a nice restaurant.

Woo Hoo, a weather change! Well, sort of. Three degrees warmer, so 48/78 and sunny. That’s 12 degrees above the historical average.

Yesterday’s treatment took a bit longer. One, of the two, machines wasn’t working, so there was a queue to get zapped. I offered to fix the broken machine, since I have experience in swapping out a magnetron in a kitchen microwave oven.

Pffftt…I just realized that I’m back to looking forward to the weekend, so I can sleep in.

Nah, she's a trouper... as said more kinda angry with herself...
In my book is the cager's passenger at fault, and the driver as he's supposed to monitor the surroundings...

Had to suffer though a 2 hours "webinar" by the unemployment agency...
In a nutshell:

- we're all way too old
- we're all too lazy and just don't want to work
- if we're offered a position in tourism/hotelier 4~500km away, we just ought to move there...

right...
(yeah I know that "moving" a few thousand miles for another job is a quite common thing for US citizens,
not for us though, we also have to haul all our furniture and appliances along... quite complicated...)

And the setup of that new phone bugs me... as expected...
After a gazillion of updates every single account access has to be reset and reconfigured...
like that darn parking app currently still won't let me access my account...
After another restart it now mysteriously opens, but has dropped my GF's car license plate... pfffff...

And the infamous banking app of course... five attempts of entering user number, pin number, ATC number,
scanning the 3D hologram and QR-code of my bank-card... till its finally up and running... ooch...

Other things just work, like merging the Google- and the FamilyWall-calendar into the proprietary Samsung-calendar...
like magic all appointments, holidays, etc... are there... huh?! How did that go?

Gmail is up and running, but getting my normal email account into it is another hurdle to overcome...
