Time to try new things :-D

With the amount of traveling (mileage) on your ST, you should do what I plan on doing with my ST. Take it to the end of the driveway- pour cement around the tires and mount a mailbox on the tail. Your right about having to eat the money. But, the memories will always be there.
I have seen what happens to bikes that sell for a low price and the sight of my memories ending up as trashed garbage was not something I could cope with easily. I bought it back and restored it. I am old enough to called eccentric instead of crazy
By the way, what do you call a bike with high kilometers on it? High Kilometerage?

Yes it is. Rode up to his place in Fort Collins and had him make it for me.
I had Steve build my R1250RT seats. Wasn't sure about it at first but have now gone coast to coast and border to border and the seat works great. He is quite the craftsman and his upholstery skills are perfect. Had him recover the rear seat and top box back rest pad to match. Looks good and the seat works even better.

We have a place in WA called Riches and he makes the seat from your butt after a couple of seatings. I am too cheap, although I have not heard anything except positive things
