I found a red ST on the forum that had an after market guard by the passenger foot peg and it looked like it would help protect the muffler and maybe some of the bag in a stopped tip over.
Does anyone know who makes or sells these guards?
Thank You Honda Express

If their chrome their probably Gold Wing bars. Some have modified them to fit on the ST.

If chrome tubing and have a slight sweep... off a Gold Wing.
If black tubing and have a welded piece in the middle, Motorcycle Larry
If black and solid rod, Bygdawg
If chrome and have a third leg that connects to where the passenger peg was, police model.

Have personally tested both sides of mine during the Civilian Police training class, they do work!

These are Honda GL1800 Goldwing rear protection bars fitted on current model Goldwings. Trike converters often sell pairs of them on fleaBay in brand new condition. The bars aren't used after the bike is converted to a trike.

The mounting holes on the GL1800 bars have to be slightly enlarged to take a 10MM bolt and the "U" has to be pulled in slightly to get the holes to line up with the bolt holes on the ST1300 rear passenger peg hanger and subframe behind. Otherwise they simply bolt up. The bend in the shape allows room for the passenger's feet to rest on the pillion pegs. It's almost like they were designed for the ST1300.

Bygdog's guards work fine. I've tested right and left. Read his instructios. You only remove one bolt from the frame at a time - else pieces slip out of alignment and you need two people - to lift and thread the bolt back in.

BTW any of these guards are great anchors to tie the bike down on a trailer or the tossing deck of a ferry (should you need to). And, in a pinch, you can attach a come along to the 'up' side guard, tie the other to a car or other anchor point and crank the bike back upright if you cannot get to the 'down' side to lift it.

The PO added the Bygdawg tip over bars to my ST and they've saved my bags on a couple of occassions. My wife found the bars limited her foot room and her heels were against the bars, which transmitted painful vibrations to her feet. I've added the MCL passenger footpeg extenders to solve that problem, which also provides her a more relaxed leg position. I've since been encouraged to also use a more relaxed riding style to stop scraping her boots on the asphalt. :)

Can you tell me how you went about bending the bars?
I found a set on Ebay for 60 dollars is that an ok price.
Thanks for your help Honda Express

Keep looking would be my suggestion.
I paid $25 for mine on ebay, that included shipping.

To pull the bars in a little you can use a vice to bring the bar end together, some large worm drive screw clamps too.

Yes, use a vice to squeeze the U together and use a hose clamp to maintain the shape until you get the bolts threaded in place. It's a try-it-and-see if they line up trial & error type of thing but not difficult. Pad the hose clamp with some cloth so not to scratch the chrome.

You might find them cheaper than $60 by waiting and watching.

Does anyone remember what length bolts are used to install the GL1800 tip over bars.
Thanks Honda Express
M10 x 40 will do for the GL1800 bars. Stock ones are M10 x 23 but are recessed and this application needs longer bolts.

Thanks for the fast answer.
If you get a chance you should ride down for Bike Nights in Ft. Myers and Cape Coral
Second Saturday night each month.
I will have my CX650T at the Bike Nights
