Top Sellerie seat

Hi all,
First time posting a thread on here, and my apologies if this has already been discussed and I just couldn't find the original thread.
I have just bought an upgraded seat for top Sellerie, something my wife and I have been wanting to do for the last two years, just couldn't afford it till now, and it finally arrived yesterday and I have to admit, I am disappointed with the fit of the seat and the gaps around the fairings.
It was so difficult to install, I had to resort to taking off the top box and the plate that it sits on, and even then it didn't want to lock down.
I could live with it being difficult install if once it's on it fits flush and the gaps both sides are equal.
But with the cost of it, and these two things I am disappointed.

Is this a common issue or do I just have a duff seat?

Did you send them your OEM seat pan or did they use their own pan and build the seat on that?

It also appears that the front of the seat isn't inserted into the T-stud under the tank flap, hence the gap and the length issue...

They used their own as I didn't want to be without my bike for a month.
I take it their seat base isn't quite as good as the OEM, hence the gaps?

I will double check this thank you the front of the seat and the tabs seemed almost too wide, it was a really struggled to get them in where they and and line up the back and push down enough to get it to lock in
But it was roasting hot and I was getting fed up with it

I have two, also both with Top Sellerie's own base. I had to adjust (cut) the horns that go under the frame to get them to fit. The seats do sit higher on the sides than the standard but not quite as high as your pics show but, as @ST1100Y has said, you need to ensure the seat is inserted into the T-stud for it to fit forward and into the rear lock. I have Givi topboxes and fittings and do not need to remove the box to remove or fit the seat. However, I can cope with the slight gap for the increased comfort. Makes a world of difference over long distances. Trips to Italy and Spain have been soooo much easier for myself and my wife. Setting off for the Baltic States on Monday on the solo so pleased I've got them!
