Coffee wasn't always a hot beverage...
In fact it was food....
Ancient tribes in Ethiopia would grind coffee berries and mix that with animal fat...
So originally coffee was a protein bar....
I'll stick to the liquid version though... :coffee:

1°/5°C, despite receiving about 1/2 to 1" snow over night I saw bright skies and sun on my way to work... ☀️
Only a brief joy though, as we've already overcast and rain... 🌧️

To avoid exposure to brine, I took rural roads for my commute... that thawing salt is some nasty stuff... :cautious:

the current 'urban monument/environmental protection attitude' shows some strange growths...
As condensing units are 'unwanted' by environmentalists & Bobos, the trend circles back to concepts already been banned way back in the 80ies:
fresh-water cooled a/c condensers... 😲
no kidding... a "box" the size of a dishwasher, installed in a kitchen counter (or bathroom)...
like a washer one pressure hose connected to a faucet, a drain hose connected to a siphon...
from there refrigerant pipes and cables to each indoor unit... Inverter rotary compressor, PMVs, plate HEX, the whole thing...
Currently an architect demands such on a project with 13 flats...
any idea how many tons of water are being wasted there per day/week/month each summer... pfffff... :cautious:
I'm pretty sure city water will slap them with a huge fine once the sewer brigade notices and reports their underground observations...

Well, never argue with an "academic"... they. know. everything. better. always... :rolleyes:

Martin, thanks for the start this morning.. and it may possibly be too much information in my pre-caffinated state. My mind jumped to our future and started wondering about what foods/drinks of ours will be considered wonderful, awe inspiring or "yuck" by those future generations. (I may have sprained a brain cell on that thought, especially when I slipped to anything made with almond "milk".)

Anyhow, it's 25F and if I could see the sky, quite cloudy. We may get a few snow or rain showers before hitting a high of 37F.

Well, off to the kitchen for some breakfast before I head to the gun club for the weekly maintenance efforts.
Afterwards I'll have to rummage through the cupboards to see if a grocery run is required.

Be safe, be careful and watch out for melting ice.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin. "What's old, is new again" is true in many fields.

It's foggy and 35°F in Rockville, and overcast as well. Mostly cloudy with a high around 50 await.

I was shocked to get an alert that our mobile phone bill would be over $1,200 more this month than normal. The reason was that Mrs. Fun had failed to follow up on returning a device obtained in a swap when she had problems with her original phone. Yesterday she put the device to be returned into the shipper's hands; now she needs to present the receipt to Verizon to have the charge removed from the bill.

Sigh... once again my desktop computer is unable to reach the wide wide world of the interweb. I've yet to do the router restart dance, so I don't know if that will restore service, but the whole thing points at some larger issue, this being the third incident of the sort in a week. Siiiiiiggggghhhhh ... [EDIT: I didn't have to restart the router after all. Simply rebooting the computer brought everything back.]

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's cloudy and 26 in MA this morning, with a couple of snowflakes on the deck.
The temperature will rise to 41 and we might get a shower or so.

When I asked Brenda what she wanted to do, yesterday, she suggested some pew-pew time.
Since yesterday was a holiday, many people wanted to shoot, so we joined the wait-list. Once we got a lane, we knocked the dust off.
Since we were early, we went back home to watched the Olympics and such.
We dined at a local pub-style restaurant, then back home.

Today, I'll head over to the gym and maybe take the neighbor's dog for a walk.

I typed out a post yesterday morning, not too long (really) and went to take a picture of my nice new push-button trailer latch release install... and the entire post disappeared before I hit Post Reply.
As a result, I was so miffed that I didn't bother retyping it.
Or maybe my feelings were just too hurt.
Nah, that wasn't why.
Anyway, after I had Dremeled out enough fiberglass to fit the new, larger locbyk barrel, I got it to fit. The template helped.
THEN another Bushtec owner suggested I use a step bit, which would have been much neater and more precise.As well as quicker and easier, but by then I'd already finished.
(I have TWO of them buggers, dagnabbit! But didn't think of it.)
Keith knows about finishing a project that looks good, but hides the little imperfections that only the builder knows about.
Annoying, to be sure, but perfection is such an elusive commodity.
Ah, well.
Such is life, at least for this flawed human being.
Sometimes doing your best, is the best you can do.
And we should always do our best.
My opinion.

EDIT: and my picture STILL didn't load. Phooey.

Have the day off as Mrs. Obo had an MRI this morning and another appointment this afternoon and can't drive. Is this what retirement feels like? We did go out for breakfast after her MRI, and she paid, which is not the norm.

Morning Martin & All from Sun & Clouds in Southern Utah!

Well, the first storm hit and left us with .31" of the wetstuff, with some of that white stuff intermingled. Currently it is 35F, up from 32F and heading for 43F. The winds have not stopped, and are blowing from the SSW @ 22 to 27mph. We got hit with some gusts last night @ 39mph. The winds will probably stick around the whole day. The next storm is due tomorrow. It should be colder and might leave some snow. :cautious:

We had to run to ER last night due to Chris getting a piece of meat stuck in her throat. She was still able to breathe, but it was stuck in there pretty good. ER tried their first shot, which was to drink some Sprite with three straws as fast as she could. That actually worked. Her throat was pretty sore after that, so I stopped by a store and picked up some Sherbet. She said that helped her throat a lot. So much for NOT going out in the night, when it is raining! :rolleyes:

Today, *might* be the day to head down to ST George for a Costco run. We'll see, after Chris gets up.

And when she does, we'll have some breakfast. Pepsi(s) for later, for sure.

Morning all! Overcast and grey with periodic downpours. Chilly too, 4C that I am informed by the Weather Network feels like 0C. The high will be 6C, bets are being taken on what that will feel like. Feels like winter (such that we get one) as far as I am concerned.

Working from home as I got hit by a migraine last night. They are coming a lot more frequently than I am used to. I recently switched ADHD meds so I wonder if that is the culprit. I'll tee up a phone appointment with the doctor to discuss my novel theory. Novel as in new, not as in long as, despite occupational predilections.

Wonder what they charge for the last straw?

Good Morning, yeah late to the party! Day one of Movie Crew setting up for a TV show, so been busy being a Liaison to the Crew. Won't name the show due to confidential details. Well last night's Birthday party for Miya went well, She loved Grandma's Present. Weather, Cloudy,3 C high 5 C. Wind up to 11 mph. Coffee break is over so back to work if you want to call it that, I actually enjoy it when Movie Crews use the Airpark. Stay Great G
