If you say “coffee is just coffee”,
I have to assume you also think socks and sandals are fine... :coffee:

G'Day...

5°/16°C, partially cloudy, haze causing harsh light... 🌤️

enjoying the constant of home capsule and office sachet caffeine... I like consistency... ☕

Office suspiciously calm, actually managed to create a € 200K+ project/offer without being disturbed... 🤔
strange, very strange...not normal at all... something's up... will the sky fall on our heads?

Tuesday, Monday's ugly twin... 😎

Thanks Martin, there's also coffee over here. No surprise, it's Black Rifle, because it's rich and bold. No vanilla no hazelnut, no silly flavorings, just unadulterated coffee the way God intended.
Last night I put the toilet tank back on with a universal rubber gasket and donut. The fill and drain valves are smooth, quiet, and they work. It's a set by Korky instead of the cheap Fluidmaster I normally buy, so maybe it will last more than 2 years this time.
And now it doesn't leak between the base and the tank, or anywhere else, either.
And that's a good thing.
Now Roz will have to find something else to complain about, besides having to walk downstairs to the bathroom in the middle of
the night.
But she'll find something, no doubt.
Like my ugly gardenia bush in the front yard.
I keep telling her I'll get to it,
She doesn't have to keep reminding me every week.
If I change my mind, I'll let her know.
Cooler today at only 71 for the high, but warming through the week.
So we're riding.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin. As for this:
you also think socks and sandals are fine

I've been known to do that, but NOT with black knee-high socks. There are limits, after all.

It's 31°F and clear in Rockville, and calm as well which marks a change from yesterday afternoon's breeziness. A high around just 50 is what we're told to expect before the weather yo-yo climbs back up the string for a few more days; it'll climb into the upper 70s by Thursday then drop again Friday and Saturday.

We're going to take our neighbor out for breakfast today, as this is the 88th anniversary of her entrance into the world. There may be an additional gathering on the front porch this evening, or perhaps in the house, depending on everyone's ability and willingness to tolerate cool spring air.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's 26 and sunny in MA this morning, rising to 45 for today's high temperature.
The rain and snow is gone, and I'm left with a thin coat of white on the deck.

Yesterday's plans changed when Brenda woke.
She had a yearning for the range, so after my late gym visit, we went to pew-pew land.
With the ventilation, there, it was colder inside than outside!
After the range visit we stopped for linner on the way home.
I managed a coat of poly on the grab rail, before bed.

Today, I'll do something physical, maybe gym, dog walk or ski.
Another coat of polyurathane on the bottom of the rail should do the trick, as well.
Brenda has bowling tonight so we deemed it "leftover night" for dinner

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning, all my fellow coffee'd people! In my world, it's my last day at home for a while - tomorrow, it's on the road and off to Ontario. Hernia repair surgery at Shouldice hospital coming up shortly. Then, I and my better half will celebrate Easter at our daughter's home in Orillia. The back home ETA hopefully will be April 8th. Then, there's planning to be done toward making WoodSToc '2026 an event to remember! Hope to see some of you then and there...

Falling you said?
The historical Celts feared nothing and no one as Alexander the Great had to learn firsthand...
When he encountered Celtic tribes at the lower Danube, he asked them what they feared most.
Naturally the famous general expected them to respond with something along "... you Alexander..."

Instead the answer was: "Only that the sky will fall on our heads."

Alexander was perplexed...

This ancient anecdote got spun further in the famous, best selling Asterix comics over here...
(released in about 120 languages, like Latin or Greek, the books are even used as language learning aid at schools...)

The line is most commonly combined with an invocation of a Celtic god: "By Teutates, the sky will fall on our heads!"

So why this detour of mine onto some French comic-books you might ask?

Because of the symbolic nature of the foreword every comic starts with:

Its the year 50 BC.
All of Gaul is occupied by the Romans.
All of Gaul? No! One village, inhabited by indomitable Gauls, continues to resist the invaders.

I had one repaired there.
They certainly knew what they were doing!
Not one pain pill after the surgery, as I was in way less pain after.
Get mobile and walk as soon as permitted, it certainly helped this guy!

Morning Martin & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 61F, up from 45F and heading for 83F. No breeze yet, but later (like when I'm trying to put down more landscaping cloth) the winds will be out of the W@ 12 to 14 mph.

If they didn't have something to complain about, they wouldn't ever be happy!

Our dinner/discussion went really well. Chris can now relax a little. Of course everyone had to see her sewing room. LOL

A couple of them even went out to the garage to see my :dr13:, :bl13: & :bk13: LOL

Today, I'll be laying down landscaping cloth and gravel to straighten out the area where I connected up the new water line at. I probably should make a run to Home Depot and pickup a faucet for the other end of the line.

Once Chris wakes, we'll get something to eat. Pepsi(s) for later.

Anyone :wht13: , have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Hernia repair surgery at Shouldice hospital coming up shortly.
That place must be damn good.
A few years back I took a friend from here in Quebec to that hospital for hernia surgery. He had to pay for it because it was out of province for him. Not only did he have to pay for the surgery, he also had to pay for fuel, meals, etc., both ways two times (we went to pick him up after) when it would have cost him nothing if he had had it done in Quebec as it would have been covered by our healthcare. All that to say that this place must be damn good if he was willing to foot a significant bill over paying nothing.

Good luck.
