Good morning all
I’m offering up a hot pot of French roast.
I’ve got several loaves of cinnamon raisin bread, a pound of soft butter and Canadian grade “A” Maple Syrup, if that bread isn’t sweet enough!
I’ve given up on sleep for a wee bit, those rodents have been raising Cain again!
It’s been rainy and windy this morning, currently 17 C with a high later on of only 11.
I’m going to go give sleep another try!
You, my on line friends, have a splendiferous day!
Thanks Ray, that’s a wonderful word!
WB

First I drink the coffee, then I do the things... :coffee:
(Very slowly. And with complaining.)

G'Day...

refreshing 7°C this morning, should see 18°C during the day, mostly overcast, causing a weird, outer-worldly haze... 🌥️

so today we've @Whisker Bill suffering insomnia ;)
cinnamon raisin bread sounds great, thanx 🥐
matches today's Nespresso & Nescafé intake... ☕

commute: uneventful...
office: dull...

given wrong information by the boss-man, my painstakingly drawn HVAC layout building plan shows the equipment in wrong locations...
take an educated guess who has to take the blame...
right, like I have been on site... ever... pfffff... :cautious:

another building plan, disfigured with his doodling, is nowhere stored/to be found in original form for me to finalize a 'clean' version... 🙄
(mind that I don't do AutoCAD, I've to use PDF Toolbox to insert elements and text-fields...)

Tuesday, Monday's ugly sister... 😎

Thanks for the start WB coffee it is today some kind of instant we got from somewhere supposed to be good... well, who knows?
Should be another one like the other one like the on the ... the mind drifts at these early hours
Had a good weekend and a good start to the week something I'd not worked on in a while, still kind of remembered, sort of... anyway hope it goes back together
today and doesn't leak
Did a bit of gardening stuff, and was good to get out for a few hours on the ST weather was perfect, time was good, traffic was good, food, well, the weather was perfect
Just a lot of things I can't [or won't] eat anymore but the company was good
A little further out than I've been in a while and higher speeds good for the mind especially on this bike never get over how well it does everything
Wish everyone a good one and safe ride if you're able

Thanks for the coffee start and wake-up call, Brian. By now, you're probably firing on all cylinders! Where I am, another day of good riding weather beckons. And so, riding shall certainly be part of my day, hopefully you all will follow suit... Btw, lets have some riding/socializing participants for WoodSToc in August! Sign up!

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee and cinnamon bread, Brian. My mother was a great and prolific baker, and often timed the cinnamon bread or brown sugar cinnamon rolls to be coming out of the oven just as I arrived home from school. That's a fond and cherished memory; thanks for helping it resurface.

It's 50°F and must be cloudy as light rain is possible between 1000 and 1200 hours today. After that we'll warm to the low 60s before sunset.

The first application of stain on the thingumbob (hutch / sideboard / what-have-you) went smoothly but, as expected, is a tone or two redder than the remnants of the original finish. The color difference isn't so stark as to be startling but I'll layer on a second coat to see if that darkens it any, after which I'll spend several days laying on the clear satin top coat.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Morning all, and thanks Brian for the coffee and snackums. Hopefully that's not that 100% maple syrup in a can. (It's always been the cheapest in the stores and was recently discovered to be cut with cane sugar syrup, and not in fact 100% maple based.)

2C here and sunny, headed to 17. As of last night they still said rain all day, so I guess a good night's sleep does everyone and everything better.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Obo.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee Brian!

I spent the night at my son's house keeping the black lump of fur they call a dog company. He was not pleased that his people were missing and is now trying to convince me that I forgot to give him breakfast.

It is currently 39F under clear and soon to be sunny skies. The high should approach 66F.

Saturday morning my son borrowed my gas powered hydraulic log splitter. A few hours later I get a text saying it was running rough and blowing white smoke out of the exhaust. When he checked the oil, a gas and oil mixture ran out. Yup, I confirmed a stuck float in the carburetor. With the power vested in the Prime of Amazon a new carburetor was delivered Sunday. After installing it yesterday (with minimal swearing) it fired up on the second pull and ran perfectly. However .... he had apparently missed the steady hydraulic leak at one of the fittings. A quick half-turn of a coupling nut solved that issue and today I'll grab a couple gallons of fluid and top it off.

Maybe later I'll grab some some groceries and prepare for a couple rainy days.

Be safe, be careful and give pats when requested!

Scott

My neighbor has a fox red Labrador, who isn't the sharpest tool in the shed but is a very happy, goofy galoot (the dog, not the neighbor). The dog is astute enough, however, to have correlated the arrival of another neighbor with prolonged absences of the beloved Master (for golf), and also to correlate the relocation of said Master's golf clubs from behind the front door into the kitchen with the same long absence.

When the other neighbor arrived one day for a purpose other than picking up the dog's master to go play golf, the dog turned his back on the visiting neighbor and absolutely refused to acknowledge him.

On another occasion, the Master moved his clubs into the kitchen before heading out for golf, and the dog refused to come into the kitchen to be fed. Refusing food is NOT in this dog's nature. When Master put the clubs back into their customary spot behind the front door, the dog immediately came into the kitchen and ate breakfast.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Brian. the cinnamon raisin bread and maple syrup sounds tasty, as well. It reminds me of the cinnamon bread pudding that's advertized as a dessert at the restaurant across the way. It's way too large and tasty for one person.

It's sunny and 42 in MA this morning, rising to 65 with more sun, later.

Yesterday, our son Joe showed up with the two kiddos, and we had a great time with them. Minus cats. They booked it upstairs, once they saw the strangers in the house. I was saying that they might see the cats sometime around when Elouise turns 10!

Joe also put the two AC units into the appropriate windows, and helped install the netting in the gazebo. During the course of the afternon, we all got to spend time on the porch and deck. Elouise and Oliver rode their scooters on the side walkway, and helped Brenda pick up downed twigs in the yard. Elouise got to ride in the wheelbarrow.

Today, I'm expecting a visit from a visiting nurse to check up on me.
I also found a claim ticket for my Leatherman knife from when I fell a few weeks ago. I wasn't aware of it, until I went through my wallet. I'll try to coerce Brenda into taking me back to the ER to claim it, if it's still there.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the coffee and raisin bread, WB.

62/82 for today, after last nights strong storms and electrical display. We got around 1”, but the massive storms were just south of me and mostly north of @Sadlsor. Another storm system scheduled to tonight.

Yesterday, I washed the sidecar rig and took it for a short drive to fill up the tank, so that it’s ready for its new owner tomorrow. He’s flying down from Green Bay and immediately headed back home. He currently has a BMW with a Hannigan sidecar, so he won’t be a novice, as I was, when Raymond and I rode it home.

Good Morning, Tuesday=Garbage day, thanks Brian for coffee and toast. Now Maple syrup in coffee sounds acceptable, prefer mine Black though. Cloudy and windy 10 C but feels like 6 C I will need a Jacket to take out the garbage. Breakfast has been made and eaten. So guess it's time to take out the Garbage. Then maybe a nap. Cheers G

Good morning everyone, I don't usually post much on the forums, but I do read them and go through you guys's conversations from time to times. Sorry to hear about all of your woes, but I'm glad to hear everyone is for the most part. Doing okay. I recently made a trip from Nebraska down to Texas on my st13. Little over 2,600 mi and to be honest it was a good trip but my butt is extremely sore because I still have my stock seat and all I used was a cheap Amazon gel pad. Can't tell you how many times I had to stand up stretch My glutes. I've been looking for an aftermarket seat, Pat. From what I can tell that is not a budget Friendly upgrade LOL. Looking to make my sta proper touring machine, I rescued her from going to the salvage yard. Larry has been a huge help with a lot of that. I plan on making several other long distance trips to New York and California over the next couple years. As a veteran, I think I should have a chance to see this country from coast to coast after serving it for 5 years. So I'm taking my time, I'm just slowly getting my bike up to proper standards, so that one day I can eventually take a trip down to Arizona to visit Larry and have him give me a pat on the back and say good job but you forgot this one tiny little thing LOL. I've seen the bike in the forum that they are talking about trying to save because it's been sitting in a garage for a long time, looks like something I would love to get my hands on but unfortunately funds are not available for that at the moment. And if I do acquire another bike, it's going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of a 2016 to 2018 ZX14r that I will turn into a touring machine as well. Although my wife wants me to buy a goldwing for us to tour together, which is more realistic. Her current bike is a 2006 VTX 1300 and has less than 17,000 mi on it. I've tried to make it as comfortable as I can for her, but with her small hands it's hard to find a clutch grip that she can handle that is as soft as she needs it to be. I probably do need to get her a slightly smaller bike given that she's only 5'4. She has small hands and not that much experience on two wheels lol. Well I hope everyone here has a good day, and I hope you all have a great rest of your week

@Ajcole85 everyone's welcome, be it a first time slurp of coffee or a thousanth slurp. Contribute or just lurk and read. It's all good. I'm sure there's a few here that sometimes wish I'd talk less and lurk more... :rofl1:

Lots of options for a seat upgrade, from off the shelf models, to custom ordered, to DIY if you're handy. As for a zx14r, my buddy just sold his. He said it wasn't a great long distance touring bike, unless you wanted to get there fast. He spent a small fortune buying givi cases for it. I'd ridden it a few times and had lots of kick, but not nearly the same level of comfort in the ST, or the new Wings. (Can't speak to the pre 2018 Wings as I've never ridden those.)

Cheers,

Obo.

Morning Brian & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 53F, up from 30F & heading for 62F. We have a slight breeze now, but later (like ALWAYS) the winds will pickup out of the NW @ 7 to 15mph.

JD, I'm really sorry to hear about your cat DOG. I know when I discovered our dog, of 14 years, had cancer, we were devastated! She lasted a couple months. I feel your PAIN!

@Ajcole85, I've been riding ST1300s now for over 20 years and have over 400,000 miles on them. It took me about three to four years to really dial that first one in. But once dialed in, I have ridden all my ST1300s for hours at a time over some pretty long distances. Of course, as I get older, I have to take more breaks along the way. But they are a bike you just can't beat for a long tour! And YES, the RDLs make a huge difference.

BTW, I am surviving (so far) with out my Adult Supervisor being here. Yesterday, it was too windy and cold to do too much outside, so I took a trip to the store and picked a couple of items and then went to HF and picked up their $20, 40-bin organizer, for $1. Last month HF sent me a coupon, good for $15. And the Organizer was on sale for $14.99. So, after giving them the $1, I walked out with it! :rofl1:

I'm debating what I'm going to do today. I have three things that I might pick on. 1) work on the door for the Greenhouse. 2) put down the ground cloth & gravel on the front yard, I still need to do. & 3) reorganize my garage. Okay, scratch #3. I need to organize my sheds before I can get stuff out of the garage. :( So, it will be between #1 & #2... :unsure-2x:

Scrambled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s), for sure, later.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Thanks everyone. FYI, Princess #1 is a dog. Guess I wasn't really direct about it, though I don't know why I'd let a cat out to pee. Samantha (Sam). 15 yrs old, we've had her since she was about 2. She's a rescue that took forever to warm up to me bc of past abuse. Turned into a pretty good dog. I like her better than Princess #2 (don't tell her that), also a dog BTW.
