Boots What boots to use during winter months/ Waterproof.

Dry is at least half the battle for warm. A Goretex lined boot would be high on my list. My gen 1 Oxtar Matrix Goretex boots are comfortable pretty much all the time because me feet don't get all clamy. The latest version is called TCX Matrix Goretex.

My boots don't have gore-tex, but I've never gotten wet in them. They also have been very warm too. I love my Aerostitch Combat Touring Lites.

P.S.- You could always go with heated socks or insoles.

I use Oxtars. Have actually waded in water and not got wet feet. I use electric sox when the temps get below 30.

I wish they made Oxtars comfortable for girls. The female version"Sunray" fit the feet but not the calves, they must think most woman have ankles the size of a wrist. So I wear RedWings.

+2 Same boots - same results. I'm going to miss them someday, just not soon  Going on 5+ years. Well worth the $200.

Sorry, I am using Tourmaster Solutions right now and they do well. They are not the most comfy and when I ride in temps below 40 for a period of time my feet get pretty chilly. I even wear some thick socks from Cabela's. I'm looking for a boot that I can wear down to 30 degrees without having to plug in some socks....I may give the TCX a look...

Just because no one has mentioned them yet: I really like my Oxtar Matrix boots, they keep me dry and warm.

Another little trick is keeping the wind and the rain-splatter off of your boots.
The previous owner made some nifty unobtrusive deflectors out of polycarbonate that sit at a 45% angle under the tip-over wings. They are hard to spot but very good at deflecting wind and spray away from my boots.

I am using the Alpinestars waterproof boots, which are very comfortable and even look good after removing the goofy sliders. They are short boots though and might not work for you. Waterproof is important -- there is nothing quite like cold wet feet on a cold wet day. :cf1:

......... So I wear RedWings.

+1 on Red Wings!!!
Maybe not so great for that "motorcycle fashion" look, but can't be beat for comfort and durability. Get a pair with Gore-Tex and Thinsulate and you'll have warm dry feet as long or longer than the rest of your body stays warm and dry.
They are about half the price of other "motorcycle" boots, I wear them for working outside, hunting and riding so they are a real bargain for me.
And as good looking as I am, people really don't look at my feet much anyway!!!:D

Owners of 1300s might want to look at these lower fairing deflectors.https://www.st-owners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55222

The link in the first post will direct you to them. They are the third item down the list. I have been using these and they do provide additional heat to your feet.

I wear the same Harley brand boots all year round(Pretty good for made in CHINA, but also my last pair of Harley(Chinese) boots). I do have a cheap pair of waterproof insulated walmart boots when it gets really cold. Since the ST has two baked potato cookers down where your feet go, I don't think I will even need them this winter.

I have worn my BMW Goretex boots for so long, I forgot when I bought them, but it was over 10 years ago. They are as comfortable as slippers and always keep my feet dry and warm. Here is a link to a site of a shop that resoles boots that has pics of when I had them resoled in 2003. Click on the tab that says Motorcycle Boots.

I have both the oxtar matrix 2 gtx and Sidi on road gtx . I use the oxtars in warmer eather and the Sidi's for cooler temps. Both are comfortable, breathable and completly waterproof. Daytona makes an excellent gtx touring boot but they are very $$$.
