On this side of the pond it'd be a radio call to a colleague & then the procession passes the a-hole a little further down the road.

AV8R, just curious, do you use whistles when at junctions to control traffic. I think drivers reached siren overload years ago but I found that they responded well to an Acme Thunderer.

Shame, though years ago at large sporting events, the ST John Ambulance were linked to the police radio.

No reason a civvy escort couldn't have a similar link. At least it'd give a feedback loop that would resolve behaviour issues over time.
 
Installed the cradle for my new GPS.

I think the limiting factor for how many electrical farkles I can install might turn out to be lack of available space in the frame to run additional wires... pretty much every gap, nook, and cranny is now filled with wiring, on both sides.
 
Changed the 3 O rings in the back wheel/final drive, added the customary moly paste, then discovered the pistons were stuck in the rear caliper. Well, the buggers fought me all the way but eventually I got them sorted out. The seals/dust seals don't look too good so will order a set for the front calipers as well. So much for riding all year round and living in a marine environment! Never mind, off to France for the D-Day celebrations for 3 weeks on Friday!

So yes we called it in, pretty big fine to interfere with a procession. Worse, is it’s very dangerous for everyone involved. Grieving people are as distracted as teenagers with a cellphone. Hence why families order sufficient motors for their loved ones and we tag them with funeral flags so we can ride herd on them.

And some of us are current, ex, and retired LEO, plus civies (I work for a security protective service that are contracted by cities for all kinds of stuff PDs cannot staff, so there are dual roles and thus the mix of employee skill sets). Doesn’t matter really, the escort laws enable protecting processions. Some carry weapons, others can’t. Typically, grieving families don’t want the extra stress of open weapons, I CC with a G17. I only do when I go into LA proper where LEO are targets of opportunity.

This ride was 50 miles east of LA. We could write the ticket our selves, but our escort role is priority. Calling it in happens unless there’s sufficient motors to have one pull the driver over (usually on streets, not highways. The CHP is protective of their turf). Another reason for so many video cams.. evidence. The picture above is a pic off my laptop using my cellphone. The orig video is clear as a bell and the license plate is clear (I use 2k@60hz).

One ride a few years ago, a motor was hit, and it became a hit and run. (He survived btw). Well the deceased was a FBI agent. Guess how far the runner got, as many vehicles in the procession broke ranks and ran him down? (Not far).

Added a budget-priced TPMS today. I decided to use this empty area on the gauge cluster. Time will tell how well the supplied 3M sticker holds it there. If it ever falls off I'll let y'all know. I like this location because it's very easy to pay attention to. I already had 90-degree metal valve stems which is recommended for these. At $55 I think this is a great addition, especially being a safety item. The unit can twist off its base in case you're worried about theft. It also comes with a USB charging cable which I will recharge via my battery tender harness. It's supposed to last several weeks before needing to be recharged. It's also very easy to read in bright sunlight.

Well i was edumacated watching youtube flicks about the London scooter bandits that run down motorcycles and SUVs with hammers to steal them.

Try that here and they will get shot in the face or run over.

Oh and yes yes yes... we use whistles and/or remotely use the PA system on the bike. My bike has a PA and I can access my radio via BT remotely, but I dont have a remote method to enable the PA mode - is which is on the radio’s front panel. But maybe there’s a way.

London LEOs are now allowed to ram scooters. As a biker, it looks bloody vicious. But as a law abiding citizen, they damn well deserve it!
 
Rode to DMV to turn in my CMSP completion certificate so I can get rid of the permit and get a full on M1 finally. Then rode around Corning, CA for a little while and stopped at a boat launch along the Sacramento River for a photo op. That gravel and dirt was super loose, but with plenty of pushing and cussing, the big girl got back out and onto pavement.

 
Rode over to the local indie shop to confirm that it needs new brake pads (yep) and new tires (uh huh) ahead of my BRP trip in two weeks. Also to reserve a spot in their schedule in time for the work to be done before the trip.
 
I dropped the damn thing in the driveway. It has a good slope and I never park there....big mistake. Broke the right mirror, pride and heart. Mirror on order.
