What did you do with your Yamaha today?

I thought about mine. Wondered if she is going to like her new home. Wondered if I'll like her for the long haul, or just a fling. Tomorrow we meet in person for the first time. Then off for a romantic evening for two. Then she comes back to my place. :)

Then she comes back to my place.
I hope you do the honest and decent thing....:D....got a name for the STen yet? Enjoy it........BTW, went for a little ride this morning in 40 mph winds and spitting rain before I had the second cataract eye surgery......gotta love those plastic eyes! ff

My donor seat arrived at Russell today for the FJR build. Now for the two month wait.
Got the CB and GRMS radio installations worked out and attached to the bike.

Ginger. Can you guess what color she is? :D What can I say, I love redheads!

XT350

Today Undress her to see what was under her cloths. changed and bleed the front brake fluid, drained out the year old gas, Installed new gas with a generous dose of SeaFoam. Changed the oil and filter, lubed the speedo and tach cable. Got a problem with the tach. Will need to investigate that further at a later date. Will go get her registered next week so I can go ride her, and give her the exercise she has so deserved.

I brought her home! This is just after mounting my tank bag, GPS mount and phone cradle at the dealer, before I rode it for the first time.

I like that red. Mine's a 2013 white but I like yours better. Come out to Oregon and ride with us in August!

Looks like a fun ride. From the pictures on the link; Why was that guy riding a GoldWing out there? Our dirt roads and trails were starting to get to the point of using them,........................Then it snowed here again. O well it will be late June before the high mountain dirt passes will be clear.

After going through and doing the requires maint for a bike that has been sitting in the garage for 22 years, I Finally put her (XT350) cloths back on an, got her road legal today. Registration & insurance in my name and then took her out for a 50 mile loop. Hoping the Sea Foam and new gas and some use will clean the carbs out. She runs fine but at times wants to stutter just a bit. I attribute that to lack of use. A 22y year old bike with 1350 miles on her. Going to be a great little bike to run around the city on and maybe do some trail riding with my Daughter and SIL. Looking forward to getting her in the dirt.

The return route south is 80 miles of twisties on paved road. We came across the crashed Goldwing seconds after he went off the road. (He was not part of our group.)

Apparently too much twisty for him. He was wearing a chrome Nazi helmet, shorts and a t-shirt, no other protective gear. It looked like he came into the curve too fast, hit the brakes, stood the bike up and drove right in to the woods. Broken collar bone, ribs, ruptured spleen and lots of scrapes on exposed skin. No one had any cell service and we were 23 miles from town so we loaded him into a passing car and sent him off to get medical attention. We did pick up the Goldwing and it started right up. It could have easily been much worse for him.

Some people should just not ride a motorcycle.;)

Made a stilt for my little XT350. It is used for lubing the chain/removing a wheel in the field to change a tube, as shown with my DR650.SAM_4760.jpg SAM_4762.jpg SAM_3552.jpg Added a battery pigtail for the battery tender.

Also checked / re-torqued the steering head bearings on my FJR. Using a home made tool a machinist friend of mine fabricated. SAM_4763.jpg Worked very well.

Hey Chuck, is your taillight starting to separate on DR?? It looks like it in your picture from the top it looks like it is pulling out. My DR the bracket cracked out on the road and was flopping all over the place until I saw it and had to use my bungee net to hold it on until I could pull it off and weld the bracket.

Yes it did, on that trip. I used electrical tape to hold it together until I got home. Ordered another one and then repaired the old one. So now I have a spare. I was going to get the fender mod done with a smaller light but I want as much light in the back as possible.

I sold it. I had a 2007 FJR1300 and a 2007 ST1300. I love the ST but I was never comfortable on the FJR. After 50 miles on the FJR my knees would hurt and my hands would be numb. I had the Corbin seat, grip puppies, and handle bar risers. That bike just did not fit me. The ST was as comfortable and as easy to ride as my old Nighthawk 750. My next step is to sell the 2007 ST1300 and then buy the best 2008 or 2009 ST1300 I can find -- and afford.
