It's mentioned in both the fuel injection & ignition sections of the service manual. My Honda dealer is chasing a "no spark situation " on my ST.

Usually a Cam Pulse Generator sends a signal to the ECU indicating the cycle that CYLINDER BANK is on. Remember the Crank Signal Sensor can only tell the ECU where the piston is in relation to TDC (Top Dead Center). The Cam Signal Sensor or Pulse Generator will tell the ECU if the piston is on the Compression Stroke or the Exhaust Stroke. The complete cycle of a four stroke engine involves 720 degrees of CRANKSHAFT rotation and 360 degrees of CAMSHAFT rotation. That makes the CAMSHAFT location the determining factor in fire or exhaust.

Thanks for the concern. No, it is me that's asking the question. I worked on the "no spark"
problem for 2 days- after pulling the throttle body, re--installing and that's when "no spark" happened. All part of fixing an oil galley plug oil leak.
Dropped the oil pressure sensor screw (top one)- accedently touched a wire near the alternator caused the 65 amp main to blow- don't know why then couldn't get the engine to fire.
They are in contact with Hondda tech services and the labor bill continues to go up!!

The plot thickens. I hope they've checked every fuse and fusible link (if there is any). Hopefully they didn't toast the ECU.

And smack 'em with a stinky fishk for working around the electrical bits of the bike without disconnecting the battery.

I'm having simular ( no spark no fuel coming out of injectors) problems now. What was the cure for your issue?
