Who's ST has melted the VRR connector

When I used to own a 1983 GL1100, I heard that they sometimes have problems with the stators, and that the solution was to remove the connector and solder the wires. So I checked mine, and hey, it's already been done!

additive corrosion on all the 'lectrical connectors should be addressed with cleaning and grease. Check the voltage at the battery then on one of the device load wires. If the drop is more than a few 10ths, you have a problem.

The dual black/red wires thru the ignition switch handle the full load,,, somewhere there's info on a fakle to fix that. Do a search.

+1! Out of sight, out of mind covered with tupperware and forgotten IS the biggest problem, not the connection style. Unplug every accessable plug-in, clean and dielectic grease and no issue will arise. These ole' 11's are gettin' long in the tooth, and as with any older scoot, that's where issues WILL arise first if prevenative maint. on electrical is not done;)
