Boots "Wide" Boots?

Okay, my turn to look for a discontinued item.

I have wide feet - but I have hell finding "wide" boots. I found some from Tourmaster 4 years ago that I really like (still mad at myself for not buying two pairs), but it looks like they have since been discontinued:

Does anyone have recommendations for wide boots? I liked these because they had the zipper with the velcro cover, but still breathe well. I really don't want anything with laces as I commute almost daily, so I just slip in and out of these.

I can't help with those but highly recommend these below. Fit great to shoe size and I wear a EE width. Comfy, waterproof, etc. My second set (different model).

I don't have problems choosing shoes but I almost always use the type of shoes you show in the picture above, higher, stiffer boots which are of course much better for protecting the foot but not as comfortable to drive in. I'm thinking especially about using the gear lever but also stiffer to walk in.

Thank you Mikedo - I found another forum commenting on how wide the TCX shoes are. I am hoping I can find somewhere local to try them on, but worst case I can order through Revzilla. They have a very easy going return policy.

Yeah, I am not as experienced as most on here, but the Tourmasters have always felt good. They have the internal metal support through the sole, so they really don't flex much when walking, but they work really well for distributing weight through your whole foot if you are putting weight on the pegs. These had a little extra plastic overtop the toe, which actually improved my shifting slightly (less big toe and more all foot pivot).

Initially I used just a standard "combat" boot type. Which works, but since I have had a actual motorcycle boot I don't think I can go back to that.

Thanks Mellow. I have been to cyclegear previously - I was planning on checking them out. I forgot about the "motorcyclegear.com" in Plano. I might have to make a trip over there and see what they have to offer too.

I guess the real reason for my post was I was looking for the "wide" designation on the boot. Like my current one says "10W" on the tag. It appears even the newer ones of the same brand no longer offer a wide for sale. I will just have to go try a bunch on and figure out which brand fits.

Welcome to my world. My foot is really not that wide (single E), but my big toes are very straight, and most boots taper so much at the toes that it's well beyond simple discomfort. For years I purchased boots longer than I needed just so I could keep my toes out of that tapered area.

For work, I finally bit the bullet and bought a pair of Nicks handmade boots in their Thurman 55 last, and they are a revelation. I and a few others are trying to convince Nicks to create a motorcycle boot similar to modern touring boots but with the Thurman toe shape. They offer Engineer style boots but nothing that is what most of us are looking for.

Nicks leathers are significantly thicker than most commercial boots so they will be tough, but if you want ankle padding, etc. they won't have that in current offerings.
