Wise Sayings...or Not

We had a saying in the Air Force.

There's never enough time to do the job right the first time, but there's always enough time to do the job later the right way.
Another factory I used to work at in the paint department had a similar saying when we were being pushed for production numbers - “we ain’t got time to do it right but we got time to do it over” usually meant that the parts with bad paint were about to hit the stripping tank only to be hung back on the paint chain 😫

If it is worth doing, it's worth doing right.

There's never time to do it right the first time but there's always time to do it over.
And yet, as bad as we thought things were in the Air Force and we'd shake our heads...it was far better than what I saw as a civilian.

“If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle.
We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us.
It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken.
Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.”
