Got this Facebook post earlier today and thought it was a joke, but it comes straight from BMW Motorrad USA... I was pleasantly surprised. Prices are really lower than what we were hearing... don't know if this is only good on pre-sale pricing or not though... can't imagine that it would be.

Lots of goodies... that's more that I want to spend on a bike but very competitive with the wing and ... with more options.. should be a great bike.

I'd have to say, "Wow." A 2010 K13GT (still listed on the BMW website) would be $21,045 with roughly the same equipment as the K16GT for $20,900.

I would say it is raising the bar for all other manufactures. Maybe Honda will wake up and see what the competition is doing.

Hmmmmmm. Indications are this is quite the ride!

However - isn't the BMW warranty void if work is not performed at a BMW dealership? :money1::money1::money1:

Interesting that it has white LED turn signals. In the UK, since 1963, turn signals have to be amber, front and rear. I know you guys in the US can have red turn signals at the back, but I didn't know you could have white at all.

When BMW says white turn signals, they are refering to the lens being clear but the bulb is amber. My R1200RT has this set up and it is very nice.

I wouldn't pay that for it! And, I wouldn't pay what Honda wants for a new ST or 'Wing either?
Wait a little while and you will find nice low mileage ones at BIG discounts!

Well, after riding John's 1300, I'd have to say that IF they didn't muck anything in translation to the 6, it will be one hell of a great ride. Then again the 1300 already is a great ride. Surprisingly good price, but all of these bikes cropping up in the 20K range have priced themselves beyond what I will spend on a motorcycle, and self repair is made more and more difficult in general cutting more people out of that loop as well. That just drives ownership costs higher. Not thrilled with the trend, and will not be purchasing because of it. However, that doesn't mean I can't appreciate how nice a few of these bikes (from any brand) are getting to be.

I'll stick with my new to me puppy and be happy. Cool bike the 1600, though I'm guessing I'd like actually owning the 1300 better.

It's not legal for manufacturers to void a warranty based on who performs the maintenance work.

That price is amazing. hard to believe actually. I guess we will see. MSRP isn't what dealers charge anyway - just a suggestion. If demand is strong early adopters usually end up paying more than MSRP. Otherwise the bike, car, widget, is sold below market price which is not likely.

Moot point perhaps. Only BMW has the computers for certain maintenance jobs.
If we are referring to the BMW diagnostic computer ( GS-911 ????) needed for late model BMW bikes it is now available to the common man for $300-400. Pretty cheap actually.

For that much bike at that price, I think I'm currently riding my last Honda.

If this price is true....
