Zumo XT to XT3

Greetings fellow digital map users. Having used my XT for a number of years and not really dissatisfied with it, I decided to get the XT 3 because it’s on sale.

It clips into my old holder but has one extra pin on its new holder, the XT does not clip into the new XT3 holder.

Does anyone know what features would be inoperative if I use the existing holder rather than installing the new one?

I would think they are all power because there is nothing to “integrate” but I haven’t RTFM yet.

How is it with out the Carpuride, do you go looking for more information?

Lol nah, I never got used to the carpuride.

Xt and xt2 are 5v i believe so need a step down. Xt3 is 12v for so, I'd stick with xt3 cradle and wiring.

I’m liking the bigger screen on the Carpuride for now.

Here are some accessories but not sure about the pin. Maybe for the remote.

I wanted it to replace my phone on theheathen handlebars, It was ok but still not as good. A nice big screen though but still needed my phone.

The reason I went from garmin to android auto is the ease of use. I draw a route on the web software and it's automatically on the phone app. No gpx files no connections to the computer no downloading and uploading song and dance... And if needs to make a route change - rinse and repeat...
And the phone app is easier to use in my view

Yes the phone has its limitations too.
