Thanks! I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a low mileage silver '91 for quite a while.....as of last night it has 17,085 miles on it.

I'm curious, what route did you take from Trout Lake to McKenzie pass? A few years ago I was riding up to McKenzie pass (from the west side) and there were spots of oil, and a few miles on it was a continuous thread, and it got heavier as the grade got steeper and then a ways on there was a ford Explorer just being winches onto a flat bed.
I do not know which way he took but I would probably take McKenzie pass to highway 20 through Sisters. Then head north up through Maupin and The Dalles to WA 14. Would be a decent ride.

I quite sure I'm the one DAS referred to as this being easy for, since it's less than a mile from my house....Roseburg VA Cemetery Parking Lot (newly paved in the last year)
