That is a great pic! So many questions... what's the story behind it?
Look pa, no center stand needed!
I used to visit that site but it's pretty much dead. Doesn't even look like there's been a single post in 2018. Seems to be the case for many forums.Looks like the kind of photo I see often in the Year Round Riders forum. Only they usually show an adventure style bike up to the axle in snow. Interesting story MUST be behind a GL1500 in the snow like that.
Just curious: did you consider going across the grass to the left?Interesting thing I had to ride across on today's ride. Yep that's ice in a shady spot all the way across the road, and about 40 feet long. Rode thru straight and easy with both legs out like outriggers. Whew, that was scary and cool at the same time lol. Once across it was apiece of cake got in 71 miles and turned over 105,000 miles on STarship.
Doh, never even thought about that. Wonder if that had been a viable option or if the bike would have sank in since it rained for 2 days previous and the ground is pretty soft.Just curious: did you consider going across the grass to the left?
Only curious, not judging. [emoji1]

Hard to say what might have happened.Doh, never even thought about that. Wonder if that had been a viable option or if the bike would have sank in since it rained for 2 days previous and the ground is pretty soft.
No problem, I enjoyed it!Thanks for hosting paul, it was fun.
Well, dang, my 28F doesn't even get close!Well, we're almost a full week into March, so I'm thinking the coldest part of the season is behind us. The current standings are...
I guess we could get some fluctuations in the bottom half of the list but not likely we'll see any of the top 5 change. Post up if you get a cold ride in and we'll run this out till it warms up for good.
Nice riding and thanks for playing!
I find it amazing that anyone can say it's fun living where it get's 25 below zero lol. We had 13 days in a row below freezing this year which was miserable. Never had pipes in the house freeze before, but did this year. Generally we don't get below zero much, couple days a year. Nothing wants to work here when it gets that cold. Waterfalls froze solid. That's too dang cold!Had a good time reading the posts of all who rode in the cold. Its fun that I live in the coldest part of SD when I can get out of a warm building to ride. ....
I grew up on a dairy farm up here in the 60's and 70's and it made no difference what the temp was outside the cows needed milked and calves fed and watered. LOL My pipes never froze this year...it's fun living where it get's 25 below zero
I only missed 1 day in February due to ice, but 12 days in January due to snow. With the right gear cold is no problem, but sometimes traction is lolCongratulations to "The Dan". I was watching and waiting but never got a day that would beat his mark.
This winter was pretty good for riding. I think there were only 5 days this season that forced me into a box for my commute. I was able to refine my winter gear to the point where I'm just fine to -20 so I'll be ready for next season. Thanks for the game!
